Why does Air America keep inflicting these right wingers on us?
Between Carmine Garafalo and Mark Luther, et al - haven't we suffered enough with these people? Do we have to hear them on our "own" station?? It drives me crazy! Its totally masochistic and I am sick of it!

1. here here
Franken so bends over backward to show what a fair minded guy he is,
it really makes me puke sometimes.
Particularly bothersome is continually bringing on journalists like
Howard Fineman and Richard Cohen, the very cowards who were
in a position to stand up and SAY something as all this filth was
coming at us, who now pose as 'reasonable, fair minded people"
"experts". How Much money do these guys have to have before
they feel secure enough to say up is NOT down, black is NOT white.....

2. I think it's proof that we can be friends
with all kinds of people, including people who aren't
wacknuts from the other side. I have friends who are
Republicans, and they aren't wacknuts. We just can't
talk about politics.

Disagreement is entertaining, and we want this network
to be as entertaining as possible, so more people will
listen.

3. I do no t agree,
we all have to deal with people who have bought this gop crap. They are just trying to show how to change minds, or not loose friends if you cannot.

5. "Give me Ann Coulter over a madman anyday."
I fail to see the distinction.

you often think of your best ideas and arguments when challenged. It would show the inherent weakness of your argument if you cannot stand up to those who disagree

8. Actually, I don't talk to people like Jeanine's father at all. And I
don't visit freeperland... so it is interesting, from a "look at this specimen" point of view to hear what they have to say.
For me this is the only chances I have to hear them. And I hear them "debating" with a liberal. What I don't like is that the two of them are (1) a friend of Al's and (2) Jeanine's father. That blunts the liberal because they don't want to lose the friend/father connection, me thinks.

9. to toughen us up
to sharpen us up a bit, and awaken the dormant ammo of our own wits and rationality against the prevailing set of established stupidities.

to condition our tiny minds to respond eloquently and persuasively to received idiocy.

to train us how to gently, diplomatically, and persuasively correct one's friends and family.

11. Well, I for one LOVE it when a freeper-type calls Randi Rhodes.
Because she destroys them so easily. I love it and I love the fact that she doesn't screen her calls (because she knows that hse can handle them).

I just got Sirius recently and haven't listened much, but that was the best 10 minutes I've heard so far.

Also, "Reagan made anybody on the left feel unwelcome in America."

But how bizarre to hear ads for the National Guard..(or ads at all, since I usually listen to Pacifica!).
