on a pretty frequent basis Big Dog would tell us that God wanted him to be President - and I think God told him to go for the BJ in the Oval Office....man are those freepers stupid not to recognize that slam on their boy George..

4. Man, that thread is TERRIFIC!
Edited on Fri Jun-11-04 09:59 PM by Vickers
It really shows so many delusional sides of Freepers.

I can't stand to go there; it's not even so much their whacky opinions as the poor page layout, but I read that thread all the way through.

Not only do about half of them TOTALLY miss the point (not just from the TV, but from each other,) but the disillusionment from some of the brighter ones (yes, some of them aren't really stupid, just misguided or something) is almost palpable!

Sure, he could be using it as any NUMBER of things, but if he used the word "mandate" I would think he is referring to Georgie.

They call on Ron Jr. He fills in for Bill Press against Pat Buchanan. Ron is a liberal, and I assume he votes that way too.

And there IS a difference." Definitely a slam to Dubya and the Annointed ones. Maybe Ronnie was just fed up with the Weeds, trying to garner political points using the death of his dad.

Maybe he was PO'd that Dubya had the nerve to ask the Pope to get his bishops and cardinals in step here in the states, make them back his anti-gay, anti-abortion platform. He basically asked the Pope to get his guys to support his politics and follow him.

Dubya is so disturbed.

"The day he was inaugurated there were several of us who met with him at the governor's mansion," says Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. "And among the things he said to us was, 'I believe that God wants me to be president.'"

5. Theyre going after him and his sister now
I was just looking at the free republic message boards- which are much tackier than these, I might add, and they're saying Michael and Maureen were mothered better or something. That's total partisanship. They're only saying that cuz Patti and Ron (not a junior- different middle name) are liberals.

Right, like Rove and the Puppet In Chief aren't milking this for every bit of political advantage.

24. Didn't Dubya use his time at the podium
to get in some jabs and for politics. Of course he did. Ronnie was giving the eulogy of a loving son, he spoke of the qualities he loved in him and he warned Dubya and the weeds to leave them out of the loop. He don't want them hitching their wagon to his father's memory.

Be gone you evil presence, do not darken our lifes any more!

27. Michael and Maureen were virtually abandoned by Reagan when
he divorced Jane Wyman. Michael used to be pretty bitter, and
Maureen openly opposed Reagan policies, especially about abortion.
Now they are the "good" children of Ronald Reagan?

29. What surprises me is how little they know about their heroes
Some didn't even know that Michael was adopted. Most think he's led an exemplary life, devoted to his father. Apparently, none have read Michael's book

(snip)

In his best-selling "On the Outside Looking In," Michael wrote of being molested by a camp counselor, of his confusion over being adopted, of his anger about being shuttled from boarding school to boarding school — and from parent to parent.

He was hardest, however, on himself, revealing his bedwetting and his inability to find a career, stay out of debt and get along with parents.

After dropping out of college, Michael loaded freight cars, raced speedboats, sold chain saws, worked as a game-show host, acted in soap operas, gave motivational speeches and made headlines that embarrassed the White House.

First he was investigated for stock fraud and exonerated. Then he came under fire for using his father's name to hawk aerospace equipment.

But the event that nearly ruptured the relationship with his parents came when the Secret Service accused him of stealing knickknacks from the White House — a charge Michael denied.

Then in 1989, he stumbled into talk radio and after a few years became a rising right-wing star. He boasts that his is the No. 1 nightly radio broadcast in the country, with more than 2 million listeners who tune in every night to hear him lambaste the Democrats and take the GOP to task for betraying "the vision of Ronald Reagan."

34. He Is Living Off His Father's Memory

His speech was a little sad - first about how he shared in the life at the ranch, when his father would pick him up on weekends (visitation).

And then saying his father never spoke of him as adopted. Patti said she didn't know Michael existed until she was like 10.

35. Yeah. It's pathetic.
He's reinventing his childhood as a Beaver Cleaver-type existence. In his book he tells of how he asked his father and Nancy if he could come live with them. They weren't nuts about the idea, but he came and was put up in some sort of sub-standard situation (on the couch or something). Then, after a while, a construction crew appeared and he was happy, thinking they were building a room for him. Then one day the maid asked Michael if he'd like to see her new room. Michael was given the maid's old room.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nancy has him cut out of the will. Or maybe everything will be left to Nancy, then her kids would inherit it all.
