MSNBC talking about Ron Reagan's shot at Bush*
Howard Fineman, Buchanan, Matthews agreed it was a direct shot at Bush. All agreed Ronald Reagan would not be involved in the Iraq disaster

1. Uh, does the word "Grenada" mean anything to them????
Talk about useless wars.

2. Guess we weren't the
only ones who noticed the Ron shots. Now the t.v. pundits will hash and re-hash until everyone notices it.

3. Grenada
was microscopic compared to the mega-fuck up known as "Iraq".

Instead of bashing Reagan (whom I detested when he was President) We should be using the Reagan Myth against Bush*. Compare the (admittedly fake) image of Reagan to Bush Jr. Any way you compares them (even the reality let alone the Corporate Media Propaganda) Bush* looks bad. Now is not the time to deride Reagan, it is imperative we (re)defeat Bush* in November, otherwise denigrating any Right Wing Icon will yield nothing but a one way trip to the next generation Gitmo.

7. OF COURSE it is microscopic in comparison.
Jeez, Grenada has a fraction of the population.

Don't you agree it was a useless war?

I will bash Ray-goon all I want!

10. that's what I've been saying all week... Now that the emotions are
starting to subside, others (including DEM leadership and our limited active liberal pundits) will come to that conclusion.

13. I agree. When the repubs re-focus on * - they will retreat in shame
I think this reagan-fest has done that - given bush an impossible legacy to match in a very short time.

Its also pre-empted any "liberal media" chant from the right this year. Anytime any of us hear "liberal media" we need merely mention reagan week.

All the while the *regime's house is falling in, and you know they won't be able to stop themselves from trying to divert respect for rr into support for bush. They'll try it, and they'll fail miserably.

It surprises me, but I think the way over the top media celebration of reagan's life might actually work in our favor.

16. My thinking too.
We should take this opportunity to point out the ways in which Bush* has betrayed the Reagan legacy.

17. that is exactly what Ronnie Reagan
has set the stage for us to do. The purpose of his slam of Dubya to make that point. "And make no mistake. It was a responsibility. Not a mandate. And there IS a difference." Ronald English Reagan (June 11, 2004) - he wants to distance his father's memory, his family from the weeds in the whitehouse.

4. I wonder if they ever heard of Guatemala?....
<http://www.consortiumnews.com/1999/052699a1.html>

Excerpt:

"Despite his aw shucks style, Reagan found virtually every anticommunist action justified, no matter how brutal. From his eight years in the White House, there is no historical indication that he was troubled by the bloodbath and even genocide that occurred in Central America during his presidency, while he was shipping hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid to the implicated forces.

The death toll was staggering -- an estimated 70,000 or more political killings in El Salvador, possibly 20,000 slain from the contra war in Nicaragua, about 200 political "disappearances" in Honduras and some 100,000 people eliminated during a resurgence of political violence in Guatemala.

The one consistent element in these slaughters was the overarching Cold War rationalization, emanating in large part from Ronald Reagan's White House."

23. You should not be surprised at Buchanan's agreeing with
what Ron, Jr., said. Pat has been against Bushco and its enablers from the beginning.
