Vote For A Strong, Intelligent, Courageous Leader |
|
Why do Democrats not use adjectives as well as Repubs? The Republicans can have the dumbest, flip-flopingest, lying, crooked-ass candidate in the world and they will find some adjectives to sell him to the public. They will say he says what he means and means what he says..he is straightforward. He is an honest man with integrity. He attends church regularly. He's a good family man...etc..etc...They will talk about a few issues in generic terms, such as, we need a stonger defense or we need to cut taxes...
But, Democrats tend to talk about issues more...We believe the minimum wage should be raised, for example. We believe every American should have access to good healthcare. We believe in stem-cell research...etc...etc...Do you see the differences?

2. So we need to use adjectives that point out those qualities... |
|
..in our opponents. Our candidate is sober, honest, and open.

One of his themes was, "Vote for a strong leader, like Roosevelt."

3. Kerry is the best...Ever |
|
Edited on Sat Jun-12-04 12:46 PM by BeFree
Senator Kerry has a wife who helps feed America. Her Family has helped the average American family to be healthy, wealthy and wise.
As a Senator, Kerry has worked to see that America has become as rich and powerful as it is today. His service has enabled many a youngster to pull themselves up by their bootsraps to become captains and leaders of industry.
Sen. Kerry has shown a level of compassion unmatched by any other politician. His many votes in Congress put him well above those who claim to be conservatively compassionate.
Sen. Kerry has stood with the rest of the world in helping other nations realize the American dream, while not foolishly spending hard earned American tax dollars on "Nation Building".
Foremost among Kerry's goals for his Homeland: Security. Not only will Kerry enforce the laws of the Land, but he will make sure those very same laws protect freedom.
How's that, Kentuck? Is that what yer lookin' fer?

5. If your point is to win the election, that's a good start... |
|
It's a battle of ideas. It doesn't matter what ideas you apply once you get elected, obviously, because the voters only vote for the ideas they hear during the "campaign"..

Reagan has proved no one remembers what you said or did during you time in office. It is only what you say and how you describe it during the campaign....or afterwards...You sell with adjectives. Very simple. If you say your candidate is a strong, thoughtful, intelligent, sober candidate, you automatically draw a comparison with your opponent without saying the words, "weak, impatient, stupid, drunk..."

12. I'll almost certainly be voting for Kerry |
|
Edited on Sat Jun-12-04 01:12 PM by RUMMYisFROSTED
BUT
at some point these adjectives (all on public record) will have to be addressed. Electing officials from the same narrow pool is rapidly becoming self-defeatist. It's like beating yourself on the head with a hammer: it feels so good when you stop.
Ed. meant for #11.

The Republicans are always talking--Likeablity.
With the problems facing our country at home and abroad we need some competence.
I have been wondering why we do not describe Kerry, seious thoughtful courageous leader for challenging times. or,"strong intelligent leader fro challenging times. Add your own ideas. My point is likeablity is not the most desired quality with the world in such a MessOther things count and the public needs to be reminded over and over and over again.
Kerry does need to show his sense of humor more. He has enough Gravitas for 10 people so he can easlily loosen up and still remain Presidential. I watched some debates he did sith Govenor Weld, a most charming likeable intelligent opponent in his last Senatorial Run. They would zing each other but there was a good spirtedness. Kerry would look at audence and wink then really throw the punch at Weld on the Issues. Weld did like wise. They both came across s as warm but kerry won. Kerry is a serious person We have to let him be serious. I think Shrum and Ompany are emphasizing --looking Presidential too much--resulting in an almost unapproachable look.

10. They Lie plain and simple ~ They have to because they are on the wrong |
|
side of almost all issues. They have to speak of their candidate in glowing terms and ours in very negative terms because they have nothing else. Yes it would help if we used more glowing terms when speaking of our candidates but we still need to hammer away on the issues because we have majority support on them.
