1. The Gipper is DEAD and BURIED. This will not work. If he has to
use a CADAVER he is in trouble.

5. Bush has a history of using cadavers...
Edited on Sat Jun-12-04 01:54 PM by freeforall
look at his first political campaign ad where they used the dead from 9/11 to try and score political points. Last night I was wondering why * needs to invoke the dead to substantiate his political message and bid for re-selection. Maybe because the living want nothing to do with him!

Just trading in one cadaver for another.

The guy who runs on cadavers.

That's not a Formula One racer he's climbing into for this big race. That's a coffin with wheels on it.

4. This is going to backfire HUGE
People are starting to notice that George isn't running on his record. He's running attack ads 24/7, and have you seen his campaign website? Before the Reagasm hit, it was full of pictures of Kerry looking unpresidential. Now it's all Reagan. It actually looks like Reagan's campaign site.

Just ask people why he won't run on his record. Let them make the conclusion.

10. lost a bet, SS
Remember? And I'm honouring it, even though the person who won the bet has avatars turned off and wouldn't know.

We did compromise, however. I only have to use it through the end of the Finals, which should be Tuesday.

Man, those Pistons are scary, aren't they? I don't know that we could have beat them.

Rumour has it we're going for Ray Allen or Brent Barry. I like Barry, we need a slow white guy who can rain threes, a la Kerr.

19. Laz, on that note, you should see the ads they're hitting us with in Ohio.
Not sure if they're running much of anything in Cali, but out here, the Pro-Bush ads have reached critical mass.

The latest one talks about how smashingly the economy is doing, and the words on the screen and the voiceover say "We've been through a lot. 9/11. War. An inherited recession."

Then they talk about the millions of jobs created this year, and show a truly awful photo of Kerry, with a voiceover saying "And John Kerry is busy talking about The Great Depression!"

The ad ends with something like "Pessimism never solved a problem. Bush/Cheney '04."

It really is enough to make one want to kill their television.

22. all we get here
is the standard anti-Kerry ads that run on the national networks, primarily what I see is on MSNBC. And I only see those during Countdown, I don't watch anything else on that channel.

I got fed up with the attacks on his supposed voting against defense. I hope Kerry's campaign has a nice ad lined up with Cheney's bragging about cutting defense, and criticising Reagan for not doing it fast enough.

24. This is gonna backfire huge.
Think about it. If anything, juxtaposing Reagan and Bush will only show everything that Bush isn't. He's not charismatic like Reagan, he can't sell his policies worth a damn, and most importantly...people just don't like him.

17. LOL

These folks are totally losing it. The only people who care to remember "Ronnie The Good" are people who loved him or hated him.

Most of this country doesn't give squat about the freaking 1980s...they are concerned about the impending doom Chimp is leading us to...out of control health costs, a decaying education system, war, one big geopolitical mess after another, terror alerts, out of control defecits, a raped environment, job loss, income stagnation, etc., etc.

What on gods green earth does Ronnie have to do with this anymore?

I think the Republicans are really countin on the belief that the American people are just one big bunch of dim bulbs. We oftentimes are, but we are waking up. This hilarious stunt will blow up so much in their faces I am hoping they do it 24/7.

27. Win one for the real Gipper
I don't think there is any way George Gipp wouldn't support John Kerry.

"I've got to go, Rock. It's all right. I'm not afraid. Some time, Rock, when the team is up against it, when things are wrong and the breaks are beating the boys, tell them to go in there with all they've got and win just one for the Gipper. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock. But I'll know about it, and I'll be happy."
