McCain offered Dem VP slot and he rejected it? |
|
So, I'm sitting at my son's house yesterday afternoon watching Cops, or some such trash, on Fox when a ticker comes across the bottom of the screen saying, (paraphrasing) "McCain rejects offer to run on Democratic VP ticket."
Has anybody else heard anything about this? I never knew it had been offered to him. Is Fox being foxxy again?

1. It wasn't "offered" to |

McCain. It might have been discussed but was not offered. Last I read, Kerry's spokesperson had no comment. A couple of unnamed Kerry supporters supposedly said it was discussed.

2. That's what they're saying |
|
Whether it's true or not is kind of beside the point. The Kerry campaign would absolutely have plausible deniability on this if they had categorically nipped it in the bud to begin with but they decided they had to play games and now the spin is making it look like McCain is rejecting Kerry.

Maybe they wanted to create the impression that Kerry is open-minded enough to consider a Republican in the VP slot. Personally, I don't think McCain was ever seriously considered.

7. This Lie Will Spread Like Wild Fire And ..... |
|
In a week it will be considered the full truth by over half of the people in the country. The right wing radio trash will be spouting that the Democrats are so weak this year that they had to beg a Republican to run with them just to get into the game ... and that they were turned down. Another myth created right before our eyes.
Any god damned fool has to know that a seat on the Democratic ticket will never be offered to a Republican.

8. That's what I thought. |

I haven't seen much news, besides the funeral, and what little I have seen has made no mention of it. Has this been said anywhere besides on Fox?
