are the problem with airports.

Stiglitz uses ATC as an example of how greedy corporations are. They DON'T want to privatize ATC because right now corporate jets don't pay landing fees at airports. The corporations are able to give themselves this very valuable piece of pork becuase the airports are controlled by politicians who are easy to buy off.

They know that if a private corporation ran that part of the airports there's no way a private corporation could justify to their shareholders not charging corporate jets those fees.

So, when there was talk about privatizing that part of the airports, the corporations lobbied politicians to keep it public.

It's a perfect example of how the right wing doesn't like capitalism. What they really like is socialism for the wealthy. They like to privatize all the gain and socialize all the costs.

I can imagine there was quite a bit of downward mobility for them...cant make house payments, personal bankruptcy, etc..I'd be surprised they would be able to find jobs at all given their involvement with such a high-profile strike.

So, what about that right-wing schadenfreude? Is that really so unusual. Maybe its really the voice of the people...the, spiteful, mean spirited face of America?
