C-Span is Showing LBJ's Funeral
Having scrupulously avoided All Things Ronnie on TV this past week, I decided to go channel surfing. Alighting on C-Span, I saw a funeral service in progress, the mourners singing some hymn. I was set to turn the channel, when I noticed the banner at the bottom of the screen: 'Funeral of Lyndon Johnson.' I wonder if C-Span plans to replay an entire series of presidential funerals?

2. Maybe they are making a statement? Showing contrast between Reagan
Extravaganza and what Johnson and Kennedy's funerals were like? Some moles at C-Span?

4. OMG...the difference between Johnson's Funeral & Reagan's is
Unbelievable! The Johnson humble service was NOTHING like the "King is Dead" and let's do a Steven Spielberg on this!

I know technology is better, and marketing...but Johnson picks "A Mighty Fortress is Our God" and Ronnie/Nancy pick "Battle Hymn of the Republic."

It's fascinating the contrast. I'm not recommending or dissing either of these because they belong to different times...but historian DU'ers should tune this in!
