What's with Spinsanity?

They claim to be Democrats, but I've caught them making false and/or misleading statements about the Left on several occasions -- including slandering FAIR, buying lies about Michael Moore, and calling the Center for Media and Public Affairs "centrist".

Sometimes I think that they try so hard to be balanced that they end up seeing "toxic" rhetoric where there is none.

1. Knight-Ridder picked them up

Now they have to present one column taking the Right to task, and "balance" it by taking the Left to task.

Sometimes it leads them to sound just stupid.

By submitting to this pseudo-objectivity, they've shot their credibility, IMO. But they're making more money now, which is nice for them.

Unfortunately, we won't take them seriously anymore. And the Conservatives will continuie to hate them anyway.

They've always been relatively even handed about picking on Dems and liberals just as much as conservatives.

If you want someone who chiefly goes after pukes, you'll want the Howler.

2. When did they claim to be Democratic?

Far as I know, they've always claimed to be bipartisan--they've always had columns calling out people on the left as well as right.

Not that I've been following it much lately, precisely because I think they're wrong about too many things.

Maybe in today's climate, I just don't WANT to be fair and balanced....
