Mike Webb Show (KIRO Seattle) "Draft could start June 2005"
Edited on Tue Jun-15-04 09:49 PM by Cascadian
I am listening to a rebroadcast of last night's Mike Webb Show and he is saying that the Defense Department is quietly recruiting for members of local draft boards. I have also heard Bush is already supplying more money to Selective Service and John Kerry wants to send 40,000 more troops to Iraq. And where is he going to get the soldiers??? Kerry may have to use Selective Service. This has also been mentioned in last week's Stranger newspaper here in Seattle.

I really do not think Kerry is going to get the UN or NATO to help in our "clean-up". I really really don't. Either Bush or Kerry have been wise not mention starting the draft during this election. It would be a folly particlarly for Kerry to start a draft particularly with the fiasco that Iraq is. It will come back to haunt him considering his anti-war activist past.

We better think about this.

3. Once again, OLD NEWS
The simple fact is that Kerry has a no draft plan. Bush is unclear about this, meaning that there is a possibility of invading Iran and Syria and thus, a definite draft. I'll take a president who has guaranteed no draft over a president who has a record of warmongering and hasn't guaranteed no draft.

4. Bur Kerry wants to send 40,000 troops to Iraq.
That still fails to convince me where Kerry is going to get those troops without Selective Service. Did I miss something here?
