"You have to know a person's soul to say lies."
Edited on Tue Jun-15-04 10:45 PM by ClassWarrior
WTF??

Tweety just said to Bill Press, (paraphrasing) "Lies is an awfully strong word. You have to know a person's soul to say lies, dontcha?"

Huh??

You have to know a person is being dishonest to say lies, as far as I know. I'm not quite sure about his soul.

2. Yeah, that one stopped me in my tracks
First time I've ever heard that from him, and that word's been used plenty by rethuglicans on his show before. So where the heck was he when we needed him to challenge them?

3. You can tell Tweety's got lines drawn, strictures, covenants, boundaries.
Beyond here lay dragons.

Matthews has gone pretty hard after Pork Chop Boy for almost a year now.

But he is forbidden/forbids to say or accept that they lie. Or that anyone is treasonous, or a traitor or a criminal. No 'mainstream' journo can recognize any of this (publicly) until after the warrants are signed. They just aren't going to topple a president again, and they now have the enterprise structure to make it (not) happen.

4. Tweety's on some kind of drug
maybe just too many red bulls or something, but don't you think he talks like he's just amped up like crazy on something?

He could be a major-league cokehead for all we know.

When I saw him on the Daily Show he seemed to be drunk. A lot of cokeheads drink a lot, too.

I'm just saying .....

The guy's a freak.

5. Hmm. I guess Matthews knows Clinton's soul then.
Because he didn't have much trouble calling those lies.

6. I get what he was saying.
A lie isnt just something that isnt true. It is saying something that isnt true when you know it isnt true. So you have to know what people know and truely believe to know for sure if it was a lie. Its a bit of a silly point really, and used improperly provides a catch all for not calling people liars, but regardless its just a way of passing up calling someone a liar.
