4. Comfort and fear
We each have struggled to amass our own particular sphere of comfort. It may not be the Tajmahal but it is ours. Activism requires disrupting those things which we have established to insure our comfort. Work, duties, keeping up with the Jones'. All eat into our time and disrupting them would disrupt our entire life.

So we watch the parade go by and ask why no one is doing anything about the clowns running over others. But to do something would risk losing our place.

5. 95 to 3...that is why
The conformation vote to approve Paul Bremer's replacement is a good example of what we are up against.

Kerry didn't vote btw.

6. It's actually being done in slo-motion so that the sheeple don't panic....
...by sudden political moves at the top. Anyway, that's the rationale I've heard over the years.

Take Watergate for instance. When 2-star General Al Haig was assigned to be Chief-of-Staff for Nixon, it was about a year before Nixon finally resigned. As soon as Haig took over the guy with the nuclear codes stopped following Nixon around, and orders were given to the major military commands to disregard the orders of the Commander-in-Chief. Although nobody ever mentioned this at the time as a possibility, I believe the military took over on a temporary basis the day that Haig became Chief-of-Staff.

Part of the behind-the-scenes activity also included getting Ford brought up to speed as our very first unelected VP so that he could take over as our very first unelected president.

As to what anyone is doing to stop them, go back to the day that we learned that Valerie Plame and her CIA network had been exposed. The NeoCons downhill slide began on that day and has begun to accelerate over the last few weeks. Joining the party since the CIA started the fun: the DIA, a large faction of senior military officers, former ambassadors and former military commanders, the FBI along with a strong faction of the DoJ, non-NeoCon civilians in the Pentagon, a large segment of the mainstream media controlled/influenced by the CIA (think Operation Mockingbird), some soldiers currently in the Middle East, and others too numerous to name.

It's happening...it's just not taking place as fast as most people would like to see.

7. I want to believe you're right . . .
I see the evidence. I also see that this country is in tremendous trouble. I don't think the Bushmafia is going down without a fight. They may be cornered and that may make them more dangerous.

8. That's the real concern.
They worked for 30 years to attain what they've now done in the past 4, and you can bet they won't let go of that easily.

9. It's difficult for us little people to do anything to stop them.
I am working 60 hours per week at two low-paying stressful part-time jobs. I'm spending my "free time" looking for a full-time job with benefits. Been looking for a year. I don't have the time or energy to work towards their demise.

I'm sure this is a major reason they keep the economy down, they side with the corporations, and they encourage employers to send jobs overseas. When people are concerned about survival and putting food on their families, they have no time or energy to fight back.
