My brother, who was so sure Bush would win this year
and has always been a conservative, mostly fiscally, is now certain Bush will lose.

He doesn't know much about Kerry and isn't real impressed with him (like his older bro), but agrees, Kerry must win because Bush has to lose.

This is HUGE for me. He supported Reagan, Bush I, Dole, and Dumbass* in 2000.

6. Two bumper stickers I saw on a car yesterday
"Real Conservatives Don't Do Deficits"
"Republicans for Kerry"

3. I really, really wish we could me more excited about Kerry
I find it very hard to do. Of course I will vote for him but I think we could have had a much, much better candidate.

7. I agree Skittles....
Perhaps once the VP candidate is chosen his campaign will become more exciting. Unless of course he chooses Gep... ZZZzzzz!

9. If it's Gephardt..
It's taken me a long time to accept that Kerry has to be the one, but I've done it rather gracefully, I think. But I swear to God if it's Gephardt, I'm writing in my 4 year old nephew, who could do a better job than the two of them put together.

13. RubyDuby, I agree with you 100%
I will positively SHIT BRICKS if it's Gephardt who to me is as appealing as a paper towel.

14. I really, really don't understand the point of such statements.
Kerry IS the candidate. I happen to totally disagree with you about his excitement factor, but, nevertheless, it is counterproductive to keep making these negative comments. Why don't you get involved with the Kerry campaign and start trying to influence things in a real way, rather than simply whining on DU about your candidate not winning?? I do not say this in a spirit of hostility. We share the same primary goal of getting * out, but no Dem candidate would be perfect for every single voter. Whether it had been Dean, Clark, Edwards, Gep that fact wouldn't have changed. But if we want to win we must do more than state we're reluctantly voting for Kerry. That's a rightwing soundbite if I ever heard it, and serves no purpose other than divide us.

4. Now if he will only go to the voting booth just to make sure Bush doesn't
win...that's the question. But, thanks, Walt..Good news!

5. Wow! Can you take any credit Walt?
Did you assist in bringing them back from the dark side?

Are they in a battleground state? I hope this kind of thinking continues among conservatives. I still haven't been able to convince my 2 brothers or my dad, but I am not giving up!

Woo-Hoo! I bet you feel great! :)

10. Yep, I predicted a lto of shit last year
that has since come to pass. He'll be in the voting booth for Kerry come Novemeber if Bush and/or Cheney are named as unindicted co-conspirators in the Plame case (a "prediction" I made last night), otherwise, he'll be sitting this one out.

either way, it's one less vote for Dumbass*.

11. Are they fellow Illinoisians or we fortunate enough to have them in
a battleground state?

Congrats Walt! Wish me luck. I have a chance at one brother and my dad. My other brother is a lost cause.

8. Thanks for posting this, Walt
BTW, I believe Kerry hasn't really hit his stride yet. And I think that's intentional.

15. I wonder how many conservatives are so because they
are fiscally conservative? Do they realize the Republicans only lie about it and do the opposite? I think pointing this out to moderate Republicans could open their eyes to what their party really stands for. I mean there really hasn't been a Republican in the last forty years who have been fiscally conservative.
