Poll question: How many debates with there be between Kerry and Bush?
Edited on Wed Jun-16-04 05:19 PM by Lizz612
Some people I have read seem convinced that there will be no debates because Bush would be so bad, but I don't think Rove would mess with the traditional system that much. What do my fellow DUers think?

edit: my atroshious speeling

it's been pre-determined:

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced that "three debates between President Bush and his Democratic challenger will be held on college campuses in Miami, St. Louis and Tempe, Arizona," Reuters reports.

"The first presidential debate is tentatively set for Sept. 30, followed by two others on Oct. 8 and Oct. 13. The vice presidential debate would be Oct. 5."

don't know if it's online in its entirety, but there's an article about the debates in the recent issue of the atlantic monthly

mr. bush apparently does well in debates because he sticks to his (idiotic) talking points no matter what - makes him look "resolute" to his gerbil-brained followers.

5. Yes, Bush beating Gore in the last election had to be a miracle
for the repubs. Gore is usually great. Maybe they drugged him!

7. How can one be winning?
Bush has debated in every race he's ever run in. I'm sure Kerry has too. I just don't see the logic in none? Certainly Bush isn't scared to debate Kerry. If he wasn't scared of Gore or Anne Richards, he's not going to be scared of Kerry.
