How bad to Americans want to be controlled?

After taking a look at the 31% on this cnn poll that still think that AQ and Iraq are working together, I am starting to think there are more, than the few people I originally thought, that believe whatever the corporate media shoves down their throats, and really want believe the government is looking out for their best interests. What about here at DU? Would anyone here be willing to give up a little bit of freedom for the feeling that you are a little safer?
