Why you must see F911 on opening night: who wants to come here the next
day and not be able to read any of the threads because they didn't want to read spoilers?

I thought I'd post this because my local Fox affiliate is running a story about why you shouldn't see F911. I'm not going to subject myself to watching Fox this morning, so I have no idea why they think I shouldn't.

But there's my reason for why you must see it...on opening night.

5. If the freeps are inside the theater
heckling the film, that's more money in Moore's pocket. So come on in dumbasses, heckle away. Michael Moore could use the money to make another "propaganda" film.

19. Don't forget about the news articles ..

An altercation at a theatre would only increase the publicity for the film.

Since it will be dark, I would be more than willing to punch a freeper who entered to disrupt it. Who's going to testify against me?????

3. My good news and better news
Edited on Mon Jun-21-04 10:43 AM by lovedems
My good news is my husband and I, mom and step dad, 2 aunts and 2 uncles are going to see it opening night.

My better news is my "sitting on the fence" sister and her "republican boyfriend" are now going with us! I personally talked them into last night at our father's day cook-out. Right as I was leaving my sisters boyfriend (who despite his politics is a *really, really nice guy*) said, "call, us. Were going." I gave him a hug and left.

Edited to add: My *very republican* brother stated "this is just a bunch of propaganda" and I replied, "Hey, Moore couldn't have made this film without GWB, he is, after all the star of the film! There isn't an actor!" The words and actions are straight from the King himself. For the first time ever, he couldn't get the last word.

9. Everyone should do this. Take a Republican Buddy to F911.
Come back here, and share your experience.

14. I am very interested in my sister and her boyfriends take on the film.
Edited on Mon Jun-21-04 11:04 AM by lovedems
We are going for dinner and drinks after the documentary and my mom and I are on a mission. We don't make to make democrats out of them so to speak, we just want them to vote for Kerry this November. If all we do is manage to get the boyfriend to vote dem for President in November...Mission Accomplished!

Edited to add: my mother is in the process of talking my very republican brother into going. He is starting to show signs of weakness in his support for Bush so she feels it is her personal responisbility to take advantage of his weakness. :) She really is a good mother!

20. A Republican voting for Nader ...

Helps as well. And I think that Nader will get more and more Republican votes come election time.

Look at it this way.

A Republican voting for Bush is TWO votes for Bush. If he votes for Kerry, thats TWO votes for Kerry because Bush LOST a vote and Kerry GAINED a vote. If he votes for Nader, that's -1 for Bush, +0 for Kerry.

This is why swing voters are SO important. If your base fails to materialize, you just lose you OWN votes. But swing voters ALWAYS vote and they can take votes AWAY from you and towards you opponent.

If people get so pissed off at Bush, but they can't stand voting for Kerry, they'll vote for Nader. And thats acceptable. Especially in a state like Florida where 600 pissed off Republicans would be more than enough to throw the state to Kerry via Nader votes.

21. That is one reason I am interested in who Pat Buchanan will throw his
support behind. Will it be Kerry or Nader? I suspect Nader because Buchanan is a conservative after all and for that reason alone he will have a hard time supporting Kerry.

It will be interesting to see how this whole Buchanan issue plays itself out.

22. Lyndon LaRouche

He's probably the closest to Buchanan's sentiments. LaRouche has the same hatred for NAFTA, WTO, etc... as Nader. But Nader's a social liberal who also believes in one payer health care, etc...

4. I'm going Friday night
a group of us purchased a block of tickets.

Originally I was going to go sometime during the weekend, not necessarily on Friday evening, but I got the chance to go with some company, so why not?

This will be downtown Chapel Hill. I doubt any freepers will be there.

7. The only
theater that I'm aware of in Idaho that is playing that movie is in the city I live. I'm trying to get a group of people together to go watch it.

Even if I am unable to do so, I fully intend to be there opening night. Even though I haven't paid full price for a movie in years this will be the first one in which that will be the case.

11. Grand Lake Theatre, Oakland CA, 7:30 PM 6.25.04
There are six of us in our little entourage but I expect it will be a 'sell out'. There are a lot of MM fans in the Bay Area and it isn't opening in a lot of theatres. We already have our tickets. If Freeps want to come join us, they are welcome, so long as they behave themselves as LAW ABIDING CITIZENS.

12. I'd love to hear their reasons
What reasons could they possibly give not to see this movie that wouldn't sound completely nuts? The only one that would make any logical sense is that "It's a badly made movie, so don't waste your time." Well, too late for that, because it's gotten several great reviews. Sorry, F*cks News!
