1. Arguing with a conservative friend the other night
He claimed that the current recession was because Clinton let the economy grow too fast, and that Clinton's boom was caused by the high tech industry, created by Reagan.

I asked if he really was claiming that Clinton was bad because he was too successful, and he went off on some blow job tangent. I tried to explain that the tech market could have boomed any time under Reagan, but that the economic climate was too bad, and that Clinton caused it to boom by shifting the tax burden off the backs of the lower economic classes, thus allowing the economy to grow from the bottom (the way it does, anyway), and he just sort of looked at me like a cow watching a car go by.

We'll win history. It's just the dumbed-down Reagan educational system products that can't grasp that logic and common sense should outweigh the revelations of Rush Limbaugh. We've lost them, at least until the economy crashes onto them. By then, though, it's too late, because the economy crumbles from the bottom, too.

2. just remember. it's always always always always always
clinton's fault. and what they can't blame on him, they blame on his mighty penis.

every ill in the world is the fault of william jefferson clinton, some schmuck from arkansas who grew up poor, had a tremendous amount of ambition, and left this country in a hell of a lot better shape than when he took control of it.

yet somehow he was able to cause everything from 9/11 to the cancellation of our favorite sitcoms. probably even rush's divorce.

who ya gonna blame? bill clinton!

3. Yeah, I said something like that
I told him that the only reason the Republicans raised a fuss about Clinton's personal life is because he was so successful as president that they knew they would have no other issues with them.

He told me my irrational hatred of Bush had brainwashed me and that I should stop reading conspiracy web sites. Which is funny, because I'm known around here for not believing in conspiracies, even JFK ones.

4. your hatred of bush is irrational. however,
their hatred of clinton was perfectly normal and healthy.

spending $40 million to investigate a decades old land deal and a middle-aged man getting his knob polished is virtuous. a bipartisan commission investigating the worst terrorist attack on american soil is wasteful.

i never argue with conservatives. stupidity can't be reasoned with. and if they weren't stupid, they wouldn't be republicans.
