Which James Bond villain does Dick Cheney remind you of?
There have been 20 Bond movies, with over 20 villains. One of them has got to be Dick Cheney's model for the vice-presidency.

He makes me think of Blofeld, the bad guy from the earlier Connery movies.

12. Because Cheney's is a multi-faceted evil...
and different people see it differently, depending on the light. Some people see his villainous bald head (Blofeld), or his thirst for oil (the woman from The World Is Not Enough), or his endless greed (Goldfinger), his desire to control the media (the bad guy in Tomorrow Never Dies), and the list goes on...

9. he's in his own class. I remember predicting that...
... Dick Cheney would become THE standard of movie evil for some time to come, and that we'd see villains in films aping the bloated, balding, hunched over, snarling Cheney look...

Well, move over Nostradamus! That global warming flick is a start.

Cheney is corporate whore incarnate. He sweats corruption. He exists in the lowest level of Dante's Hell. He embodies gluttony: taking more than you need, the greatest sin.

37. He's the dark lord of the Sith, alright! And there is also Darth Wolfowitz
Edited on Mon Jun-21-04 03:09 PM by Capt_Nemo
Although in the movies the Emperor doen't need a sock puppet (GWB) popular
(how come????) with the common people. He displays a sympathetic persona,
his alter ego (Supreme Chancelor Palpatine), which is a thing Cheney
would be utterly incapable of...

Darth Vader, his partner in evil started out as a good guy, which
I doubt very much can be applied to Darth Wolfowitz. I mean, he
may have posed as a leftist when young, but only in the movies can
someone that evil not have always been a despicable bastard.

36. This post is an excellent example of how brilliant DU'ers are and what
whores the media is.

If there were any justice in the world the idea that underlies this post would seep aout to the major media -- perhaps in an SNL skit, or somethig like that.

But, no. It's too funny, too true.

Major media wouldn't touch this one with a ten foot pole.

40. Not only is there a town
there's the family in Britain whose name Ian Fleming used. Three of them were members of the same club as him; he started looking through the membership list until he found a suitably villanous name. One of them is now a cricket commentator for the BBC - Henry (no, it doesn't sound quite so evil with that first name, does it?)
