Is Fahrenheit 9/11 playing in your community?
If so, do you anticipate trouble by right-wing agitators?

5. In a scrapping mood, huh?
I do not think there will be trouble in my town of Seattle (liberal stronghold!), but I cannot help but notice how brazen they are becoming around here. The Republicans also had a booth at the Fremont Fair last weekend. I found that odd.

If there is a problem, I fear I may also be in the mood of confrontation. I am not a violent person but I do have a short temper. If anybody denies me my freedom of speech then it's a problem for me.

John

I don't anticipate much trouble around here...I live in a pretty democratic area. I think at the Princeton (NJ) theater that it's plating at, the progressives will significantly outnumber the Freepers

7. at least 3 theaters in suburban Seattle!!!
I was very surprised to see it in so many theaters in the Bellevue/Redmond WA area. I figured it would only play in downtown Seattle and the University of WA District. Can't wait to see it!!

Does Moore really show the full 7 mins of * sitting in the classroom doing a poor Dan Quayle immitation? One of the 527's should make that footage into a commercial. I think that will be the most damaging part of the movie.

8. Dupont Circle/DC
Previews tonight. There's going to be trouble here and here...Freepers are going hassle local theater managers, who aren't used to this. And then go inside and cat-call the movie, driving everybody nuts and that's when trouble starts. None of us are going to want to sit there like sheep and none of them are there for any other reason than to pro-actively rebut the film in real time....made even more delicious by doing it right in your face.

This won't happen in the DC or SF or LA or NY art-houses, of course... but it's in those midwest mall where I sense the issue is coming to bear about public conduct in stressed out situations.

As to whether we'll have any right-wing jerk-offs protesting the film, I really can't say. The last time that happened around here was in 1988, with Martin Scorsese's "Last Temptation of Christ."

I picked up my tickets today for the first showing in my town -- 10:50 Friday morning. The theater had a little printout taped to the cashier's window proudly announcing that tickets for Fahrenheit 911 were now on sale with a list of all the showtimes.

I doubt we'll have any problems, but you never know.

But I wont be able to see the movie tell next Thursday, when my spouse has some time off. I have been so excited to see this movie and Spiderman I just can't wait.

I live in a reasonably sized county, but it's also REPUBLICAN HELL ... hmmm ... wonder if that has anything to do with it??? And they showed a trailer for F-9/11 at the local movie house, but I think they were just teasing us. I'm pissed! But I'll drive wherever I have to go.

And I plan to tell any protesting Freepers: "You can't handle the truth!"

42. Deep in the heart of Texas, Dallas!
There is a very large group working on selling out the Magnolia at the 7:35 showing. We have a group of 10. What fun we all are going to have, and just the night after the privilege of getting to see Scott Ritter. How much more can you ask for in one week? Oh, I forgot, the weekly Halliburton protest on Belt Line at Webb Chapel, but that is a lot to ask. And then you have those very not nice, ugly ProtestWarrior group type people.

It is really easy to start to decide that it is time to check out and there is no reason to be involved or to care. Please try to stay with us all and help in the grand scheme of things.

44. We are driving to Rockford Illinois to see it.
Rockford is about 50 miles from me. There are lots of Democrats in Rockford. I ordered the tickets today!

Maybe some of them will try to picket it, but I hope there is no trouble inside, no catcalling.

Maybe Freepers are too cheap to pay for tickets. After all, they would not want MM to get their money!

I just want to see the movie, but I will not be afraid to confront anyone who tries to stop me.

If we pay to see the movie, we should be able to DEMAND see and hear it without interference.

I would think that theater managers would not want any dissatisfied customers, complaining and asking for refunds.

48. It will be showing in 6 Houston theaters.
Plus a couple in "Greater Houston"--such fine communities as Sugarland & Pasadena.

Not too worried about agitators. The theaters are private property--not some hippy-dippy gathering in the park. (Not that there's anything wrong with hippy-dippy gatherings in the park.)
