6. The convention has to vote to nominate the vice president
so Wednesday of the convention is the latest possible. Look for Kerry to announce his decision before the convention, but after the 4th of July (nobody cares about politics onver the 4th-the story would be ignored)...

7. perhaps the 4 th of July
I am a volunteer in Michigan and asked one of the staffers and he said he thought that it would be announced July 4th not a fact though
