So the Taliban destroyed ancient Statues and we destroy Babylon?
Remember just a few years back when everyone got their undies in a wad when the Taliban destroyed the historic statues of the Buddha? It was an outrage and the world condemned it big time!

Jump ahead to today. Babylon is one of the worlds oldest cities and most certainly the most talked about. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Mesopotamia, etc.... It's truly one of the top archaeological sites in the world. Well... the U.S Military has destroyed a great deal of it with bulldozers, etc, for a military base. Experts have arrived to survey the damage and are stunned by what they see. AND you can't fix this type of stuff once it's broke.

WHERES THE OUTRAGE! I consider this considerably worse that what the Taliban did to those stautues.....

2. Why would you do that?
Why are republicans so against preserving what little history we have left? This makes me cry...makes me sick to my stomach. Why isn't this being reported? This is sickening.

3. Outrage here
As an Assyrian I've been watching in shocked dismay as so many of our cultural artifacts (the National Museum) and monuments (Babylon) are being destroyed. I feel so sad and helpless

4. Can we still meet at the third pyramid?
Turn your watch
Turn your watch back
About a hundred thousand years
A hundred thousand years
I'll meet you by the third pyramid
I'll meet you by the third pyramid
Ah come on, that's right, I want
For me in Mesopotamia

We're going down to meet it
I ain't no student
Feel those vibrations
Of ancient culture
I know a neat excavation
Before I talk I should read a book
But there's one thing That I do know
There's a lot of ruins In Mesopotamia

Six or eight thousand years ago
They laid down the law
They laid down the law
aa aa aa aa aa aaa
Six or eight thousand years ago
They laid down the law
aa aa aa aa aa aaa

I'll meet you by the third pyramid
I'll meet you by the third pyramid
Ah come on, that's right, I want
For me in Mesopotamia

We're going down to meet it
Now I ain't no student
Hear those vibrations
Of ancient culture
I know a neat excavation
Before I talk I should read a book
Mesopotamia that's where I wanna go
But there's one thing that I do know
Mesopotamia that's where I wanna go
There's a lot of ruins in Mesopotamia

Six or eight thousand years ago
They laid down the law
They laid down the law
aa aa aa aa aa aaa

5. It's an ancient tradition
to obliterate the culture of your enemie. Christians built their churches on top of pagan holy sites all over the world.
