Oh - My - GOD ...

However is in charge of Bush's campaign needs to be committed to a mental hospital. They are really losing it.

On edit:
I watched it again. It really looks like a great ad FOR Kerry. The shot where Bush is shown right after Hitler...well, Bush looked like he is doing the "nazi salute" ... or am I wrong?

No joke. If they know they're toast, then the thing to do would be to use the campaign to establish psychological links in their base, between the worst evil possible (Hitler) and the "libruls".

If Kerry wins, they'll have their sitting army of dumb eschatalogical brown shirts ready to fight "evil" right here at home.

Do I put it past them? No. Because they are playing for the World, and they are playing to win. And for keeps.

Where the hell is the media?

Kerry should send out a press release on this.

I thought the right wing was outraged when anyone mentioned Hitler.

As far as the ad, it looks like a parody. Was it produced by the Onion staff?

20. Let's write the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
(the Oscar people) who wouldn't let Moore use footage from his Oscar acceptance speech in F9/11, but there IS footage in that Bush ad. I'm sure they'd have LOTS of concerns about copyright infringement. They would probably have to pull the whole thing down to remove the seven seconds of Moore from the piece.

28. Email to the academy

I am writing to you because of a current advertisement using footage from the 2003 Oscar telecast. The advertisement is available on http://www.georgewbush.com/Default.aspx and it features seven seconds of Michael Moore's Oscar acceptance speech, where he decries the "fictitious administration"; the Bush campaign is using it for political purposes, although Mr. Moore has said the Academy would not allow him to use footage from the telecast for his film Fahrenheit 9/11. I hope you will stop this usage of Mr. Moore's image (and, indeed, of the Oscar telecast) for political purposes.

Best,

31. Some seem to have missed the premise
The idea is that "those crazy Democrats are mad, but you should be happy and vote for the optimist!"

The included shots of Hitler+Bush are the two ads submitted to MoveOn.org that were rejected from the "Bush in 30 Seconds" campaign. So I don't see how they can get away with the "sponsored by MoveOn.org" business on one of them, because they never were sponsored by MoveOn... that could be libel.

Seems like they're *trying* to capitalize on the "scandal" of the Hitler-themed MoveOn.org submission. But the editing is so inept, it actually makes it look like:

"The critics were right, and Bush is Hitler. Now choose between Kerry or Hitler."

Hehe. Dipshits. This is what happens when you stifle creativity. Your creative efforts turn out shitty.

My first 3 wishes:

1. Bush/Cheney/Rove/Wolfowitz/Rumsfeld/Rice - all arrested and taken from the White House while the American people through rotten tomatoes at them and it is broadcast worldwide. Al Gore steps in temporarily and apologizes to the World and promises to make amends in all areas Bush & Co. fucked up.

2. Bush/Cheney/Rove/Wolfowitz/Rumsfeld/Rice are found guilty of war crimes and treason against the United States and sentenced to die. Hannity, Coulter, O'Reily, Scarborough, et al get charged for repeatedly being apologists for this Administration and each be forced to serve 10 year sentences for their crime.

3. Wish for 3 more wishes.

4. Me win huge multi-million $$ lottery, lots and lots of millions. Also, that Brad Pitt will realize his terrible mistake in marrying Jennifer Aniston and come find me.

5. Wish that these past 3 1/2 years didn't happen, it was just all a bad dream and actually Gore was President and America was enjoying peace and prosperity, no war, no 9/11, life is good.

6. And that they run this commercial a thousand times until November.

Hi, I'm new here, but I couldn't resist jumping in. I love the forum--very addictive reading.

I can't help thinking the Moveon clips aren't supposed to be in the ad. They just don't fit with the theme of shots of angry yelling democrats. The bit with hitler and bush ("what were war crimes in 1945 - foreign policy in 2003") and the raving hitler speech subtitled with a Bush quote ("God told me to strike Al Quaida...") are just too weird. It seems unlikely they'd put that footage in without context (such as "here's what those crazy mean evil democrats said in a commercial"). Is it possible that someone hacked their site and replaced the original ad with an altered version?

51. They're trying to re-contextualize the MoveOn.org ad...
The very ad that right wingers have used to target MoveOn.org -- "Oh, yeah, that's the group that compares Bush to Hitler!"

Interesting ploy -- if you call the GOP on this, they'll simply say, "Hey, we're just showing how hateful the MoveOn ad is," when in fact they're re-contextualizing it to infer that Democrats who speak with passion and emotion are reminiscent of Hitler.

MoveOn should deploy a phalanx of lawyers on this, immediately.

60. Pardon the language, but that is just so fuckin' sick.
I literally got a chill while watching it. Utterly disturbing, embarrassing, and certainly unworthy of the Office of the Presidency.

A bunch of whacked-out, demented, power-crazed assholes are running that campaign, apparently. Of course, we knew that already.

66. I think you are right. I cannot see that helping him in the least.
If anything, maybe it'll turn some more against. :hi:

67. Are they fucking high?
No, seriously... they're on goofballs or something. Wasn't Moveon attacked because someone sent in a contest entry comparing Bush to Hitler? This is on their own goddamned website. Karl Rove must be doing some serious crack.

This makes them look like shit.

69. Oh my lord! You guys aren't exaggerating!
I finally got to watch it and it IS a GREAT commercial - for the Dems! Jeez, it's almost like (as some have speculated) Bush* is actively trying to lose the election.

Anybody who thinks that this ad will in any way shape or form help Bush*, well, I'd like some of whatever they're smoking!

We should all pose as Bush-supporters and try to convince Rove and Co. to run it on TV. :-)

71. What a bunch of inept leaders!
These guys might just be totally retarded.

Why in the world would you assemble the most provactive political figures, all railing (with applause) and superimpose images of **** and think, EVEN FOR A SECOND, that this would generate support?

What incredible, braze stupidity!

Who is the woorld isn't going to get more out of an impassioned speach vs. a ticking, stuttering baffon of a leader that couldn't pronounce a word with more than 4 syllalbles in it - unless it's a baseball players name
