Strong Men Prevail in the World...That's What These People Understand |
|
and if you don't "look strong" that's a recipe for disaster in these places we want to be in. If you just "cut and run" you look weak.
Loose quote from Woolsey (Clinton's CIA Director).
Is this true?

2. I don't know but I find a huge difference between being strong |
|
and being a bully.
Bush and his administration are not strong men, they are bullies who get innocents to fight their battles. That is weak.

3. History seems to show that that's true. |
|
The meek shall inherit the earth seems to be more for the life beyond.
But people we (or others) regard as heroes, and who have succeeded in acquiring fame, fortune, power, and all that, were generally strong: Caesar, Alexander the Great, George Washington, Columbus, Magellan, Napolean, Queen Elizabeth, etc., etc.
There are a few exceptions (Ghandi, Golda Meier?). But they are few, I think. I guess it's because others who are strong come along and want to take things from you, so unless you are stronger, you will cease to exist.

4. I believe that's true about anything |
|
Although the choice of the word "men" is false. It's no secret one should give the outward appearance of strength in order to be taken seriously. I don't mean one needs to appear physically strong, but certainly show strength in a way that is appropriate for the situation.

I'm a fan of bush are you? I was VERRRRY careful to point out that I wasn't talking about physical strength, or toughness or "swagger."
But, just in case I wasn't clear the first time. I was referring to the kind of strength Dean, Clark, Kerry, and many others display when they really believe in what they're saying. The kind of strength that Gore has been displaying lately. The strength and courage of one's convictions carry a lot more weight than physical toughness. Bush is weak and it shows. He's weak minded and he believes in nothing. This is why he has no respect, and this is the point I'm making. KoKo, please tell me you already knew that.

5. But, I look back on what I was told about Viet Nam. Stay Tough Stay |
|
Strong..don't "cut and run" and I look back on all those "Tough Guys" who pillaged the earth throughout history and slaughtered millions and millions and wonder at what point do we weed out "Speak softly but carry a big stick" (FDR Diplomacy) and Barging in with guns blazing showing our dicks and saying "Look at Me! I'm the next Atilla the Hun!"
When does one cross the line between being strong and affirmative but carrying a big stick and speaking softly and being a BULLY?
