When they show Bush on TV at his desk, wearing glasses
"reading" or "writing", who do they think they are kidding? :puke:

1. It's kind of like Homer Simpson
When they draw the glasses on him, it usually makes him look dumber.

5. Reminds me of the simpsons where Homer wore the eyeball glasses
Y'know, the ones that had eyes painted on so it would look like he was awake even though he was sleeping. Older folk will remember an old 3 Stooges short where Curly is in court and paints eyes on his eyelids to achieve the same effect.

10. Bless you for the Stooges reference.
(My personal faves.) I even remember the short it was from. They are trying to get us to believe that W can ACTUALLY read, and we all know that's not true.

probably the only time he ever sat at the desk and pretended to "work" - but we all know better.

9. He only wears them when Condi is in the room....they're X-Ray glasses
No shit, he ordered them out of the back of Boy's Life, or maybe he got them for selling 150 subscriptions of Grit, I forget which one.

Well, that's what I heard anyway. Probably no truth to it.

Regards,

Wild-Eyed Liberal Vickers

24. Boy's Life was a great mag!
I remember I used to cut out send out mail with coins in them in order to get the Charles Atlas workout program (I was tired of being a fat 120lb. weakling 5th grader.) I never got my order... I wonder why :D

Why not just put a graduation cap on him and make him carry a copy of War and Peace? And he can hold a coffee in the other hand... and maybe put some calculus notes hanging out of his back pocket.

That'd convince everybody!

20. It is funny! I also love how he writes all along the margins
and around the bottom of page (close up of his "written thoughts" on CBS News tonight)......I used to do that in high school when I was bored, random thoughts scribbled down to make it seem I was interested in the text.

All work and no play make George a dull boy.
