When I hear that our military strategy
is to form a base of operation in the Islamic world by making Iraq a shining example of freedom and democracy in the middle of the Islamic world, I begin to wonder. Isn't this the same Islamic world that hasn't had a successful Democracy or freedom for 3,000 years.?

Don't our soldiers stand in the middle of hostile territory bordered by two vicious and hateful advisories, Iran and Syria?

Aren't our supposed allies, Turkey and Saudi Arabia reluctant to even let us fly over their countries, or even host our troops? Aren't they also fearful of any talk of change in the Middle East, because their rule could be in jeopardy?

When our brave soldiers are placed in this peculiar strategy with no plan, why does the name "General Custer" leap to mind?
