PUKE ALERT: School principal supports Bush on 9/11 handling
Edited on Fri Jun-25-04 06:43 AM by Skinner
Sarasota principal defends Bush from "Fahrenheit 9/11" portrayal
By Associated Press
June 24, 2004

SARASOTA — Michael Moore's film "Fahrenheit 9/11" criticizes President Bush for listening to Sarasota second-graders read a story for nearly seven minutes after learning the nation was under attack on Sept. 11, 2001.

But Gwendolyn Tose'-Rigell, the principal at Emma E. Booker Elementary School, says Bush handled himself properly.

"I don't think anyone could have handled it better," Tose'-Rigell told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune in a story published Wednesday. "What would it have served if he had jumped out of his chair and ran out of the room?"

"Fahrenheit 9/11," which won the top honor at last month's Cannes Film Festival, portrays the White House as asleep at the wheel before the Sept. 11 attacks. Moore accuses Bush of fanning fears of future terrorism to win public support for the Iraq war.

2. Why do they always reference "jumping out of his chair and running
out of the room?" How about just STANDING up, saying "I have some things to attend to, kids, enjoyed meeting you" and WALKING out of the room? They never thought of that?

3. Well, he DID know Cheney was taking care of things....
.. so no need to act presidential IMMEDIATELY.

No script available I guess that read something like:

"Hello children. I would have liked to be able to stay with you this morning but something has come to my attention that I need to respond to immediately."

Called the teacher out with him:

"Madam, we have a national emergency. I'm sorry but I have to leave now".

.. and then left his underlings to take care of the press.

But then again, I guess that's why I'm not president.

8. No Principal that I ever
worked for would have said such a thing--not the even the dumbass I worked for. Even he would have wanted him to leave. Look at how many lives might have been saved had he been wise enough to give the orders to have 2 planes taken out. He's so stupid.

7. For one thing...you freeper principle...
bush could have excused himself and set about securing the safety of New Yorkers..if he hadn't of been such a nincompoop and set on securing the photo op instead...course if he wasn't really running the Country then who would need him?

I have a feeling that this principle's reaction to bush's negligence is not going to be in the majority.

12. How'd He Know There Wasn't A Plane Headed for the School??
> "What would it have served if he had jumped out of his chair and ran out of the room?"

Possibly preventing the death of everyone in the school, if it was a target.
How did he know it wasn't?

Removing himself, and evacuating the school would have been a really good idea.

14. Absolutely.
When the country is under attack the president (such as he is) is a target. He endangered that entire neighborhood by sitting there like the big dumbass he is.

13. Of course. Bush did her a big favor by going to her school ...
... and her career is on the line. She can either be the successful principal of a school visited by the president or the principal of a school that Bush used as a photo-op when he should have been being presidential.

She's going with the former, but the latter is true.
