Check out this Republicon rant...
Edited on Fri Jun-25-04 02:30 AM by imax2268
It's from another website...but if you ask me...it makes no sense what so ever...he has no links or anything to back up his claims and given this persons history around the other site...I'm sure the info is a bit blurred...

In 1992, Al Gore made it known how much the first Bush President was soft on terrorism in Iraq. It was the drum he beat against Bush. He quoted sources to make his point. Iraq is in the middle of the terrorism game and the Republicans turned a blind eye.

Now in 2004 when Bush revisited the war on terrorism and attacked Iraq, which btw was described as a nation that supported terrorism by Al Gore, Mr. Gore wants to use it against him, saying there was no connection between Iraq and Bin Laden.

UH OH!

In 1998, under the Clinton Administration, indicted Bin Laden for his terrorist network activities that worked hand in hand with Iraq!

Saddam and Bin Laden agreed not to work against each other but to help one another in obtaining WMD.

NEED A BIGGER LINK TO TERRORISM?

Has Al Gore taken a lesson from John Kerry in flip flopping?

First he bashes Bush for being soft on Bin Laden.
Next Bin Laden is indicted under the Clinton Administration for working with a nation that supports terrorism.
Finally Gore attempts to slam Bush for saying there is not connection!

IS THERE OR ISN'T THERE. According to Al Gore, there is, no there isn't...yes there is...possibly not...depends on who I'm talking too...yes there is...no there isn't...

Lets answer this question once and for all. While there is no direct connection to Saddam and 9/11, there is a definate connection between Bin Laden and Saddam. And because of that connection, we are in Iraq.

Class dismissed!

I just have to laugh...so far no one has responded...either it's because he's off track or just plain to absurd to even deal with...

1. "And because of that connection, we are in Iraq."

3. I don't think so

If you are debating him, you should ask for links. But I've read in many places there is no link between Bin Laden and Hussein; that Hussein may have been approached by Bin Laden but turned away. The two have very little in common, and to say they teamed up is like saying Michael Moore and Jerry Falwell are plotting together. You should easily be able to get your own links on this subject by doing a Google search.

believe me...most of the time this guy uses info from GOP.com...

I have googled this to death because the republicons on that site are swearing up and down there is/was a connection...and at least one of them says that the entire media is lying saying there isn't a connection...it's rather funny...

Just check out this one from another rightwinger poster over at this site...

The Kerry camp is paying felons to conduct door-to-door registration drives. This includes those convicted of sex offenses, assault, and burglary. Convicted felons, who can’t vote themselves, are going around signing up people to vote, and gathering information like driver's license numbers and Social Security numbers.

Is anybody surprised at this?

I mean come on...I think they watch to much Faux Snews...

5. my reply to the Republicon who...

made those statements in the first post of this thread...

First of all I would like to see a link that you are getting your information from...

Second...The first Gulf war was not about terrorism...it was about ousting Saddam from Kuwait...do some research and you will see that Bush #1 said so himself that once Saddam was pushed out of Kuwait...the fighting would stop...

The reason no one on the left has bothered to answer this post is because the whole issue about a link between Osama and Saddam was based on pResident BushCo's and Vice pResident Crashcart's continuing claims that Saddam and Osama were working together to carry out the attacks 9/11 and then use that for their justification for war...what part of that do you not understand....?

That's the link that everyone keeps referring to that didn't exsist...not what happened before 9/11...but what happened after that day and the months following when the connections were "implied" by the BushCo administration that Saddam and Osama were working together to carry out the attacks on 9/11...they implied that there was a connection so they could use that as a prelude to war...the panel said that there was no link between Saddam, Osama, and 9/11...

Gore was simply stating that the current war in Iraq was based on lies from the current "misadministration"...

Was there a link before 9/11...maybe...but it was never proven...show me "credible" evidence that Saddam and Osama actually worked together to commit terrorist attacks against us or anyone else for that matter...and I tell you why...I did a search using some of your words in your post and the only thing that pops up is far-right-wing websites...no actual "credible" news sources...so I ask you to provide a link to your information so I can get a better understanding of what you are referring to...
(endQuote)

what do you guys think...?

6. Gore did say that during the first Clinton/Gore campaign.
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 03:38 AM by merh
You have to remember, Poppy had won the Gulf War and that was his big selling point. Clinton and Gore chose to attack the fact that Poppy did not finish the task, that he did not go in and get Saddam.

If you want to have fun, try to find that photo of Rumsfield with Saddam. Then post it and tell him that is the link Bushco et al have been referring to.

It was Raygun that funded and armed and trained both SH and OBL. There's the link they have been looking for. (Raygun wanted OBL and the Afghani people to defeat the USSR in the Afghanistan war and he wanted SH to overthrow Iran. Poppy was Raygun's VP) We gave power, weapons and resources for both of these bad men and our nation made them powerful. Rethug administrations empowered these evil leaders.

The election is not Gore v. Bush. It is Kerry v. Bush.
