Conservatives Groups Help Ralph Nader
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=ap/nader_convention
Two conservative groups have been phoning people around Oregon this week, urging them to attend Ralph Nader's convention Saturday in hopes of putting Nader's name on Oregon's presidential ballot.

The groups make no bones about their goal — to draw votes away from Democrat John Kerry and help President Bush win this battleground state in November.

"We disagree with Ralph Nader's politics, but we'd love to see him make the ballot," said Russ Walker of Citizens for a Sound Economy, a group best known for its opposition to tax increases.

The Oregon Family Council also has been working the phones to boost attendance at Nader's event — with the idea that it could help Bush this fall.

"We aren't bashful about doing it," said Mike White, the group's director. "We are a conservative, pro-family organization, and Bush is our guy on virtually every issue."

1. Hopefully, The party of the "Uniter, Not A Divider" will have this
backfire- right in their faces. I hope President Kerry is able to return us to some sense of political civility.

2. And, on the TalkLeft blog....
http://www.talkleft.com/

"I am a Democrat who, a short while ago, gave my email address and phone number to the local Republican party to receive updates on what they were up to. Today I received a phone call from the local Republican party asking me if I wanted to go the Nader convention. They explained the need to get Nader on the ballot to help President Bush. The name on the caller ID on my phone said “Bush Cheney” implying that they were calling from the Oregon Bush Cheney headquarters.

I found it blatantly sleazy of the Bush Cheney campaign to ask volunteers to attend a Nader rally and contacted the John Kerry campaign and some local media. Do what you wish with this info, it should start hitting the Oregon news radar in a few hours."
