Poll question: Do you think the draft will return after the election? |
|
I cannot imagine four more years of Bush, especially if he does not have to be held accountable for anything. At least the first four years, he had to worry about his reelection. If he gets another four years can you imagine what that administration will do. They will change all the laws to their favor.
Also, this stop/loss order and its consequences, did they understand that this could happen to them when they signed up? I wonder? Can you imagine those that were suppose to come home being told they have to be there another year? I cannot even imagine what they are going through.

If Bush is still in office in February, and reinstates the draft, will there be a second civil war?

even the Repukes aren't dumb enough to do that... polls have the draft at 80% or more disapproval. It's political suicide. If Bush did that after winning in 2004, he'd lose the Congress (both House and Senate) in 2006 and definitely be booted in 2008.

5. It'll be a "stealth draft" |
|
They won't register and draft 18 year olds en masse. Thye will go after a selected subgroup, spread out among the population (the "skills draft"), and start it slowly.
And I will put down money that draftees will be able to buy their way out of serving.

irresponsible at up to the age of 40? I thought you had to be responsible by the time you were 21; however, that applies to poor people, not the uber rich and their children.

6. Kerry says he wants more troops |
|
to "increase security", (read more effectively subjugate the Iraqi population). I don't think it will work. We are detested by the Iraqis. Many will fight us to run us out, most Iraqis will support the insurgents.
I'm beginning to think Smirk is more likely to "cut and run" (read: admit defeat and stop the bleeding) than Kerry is.
Quite a conundrum

7. Don't think we we'll ever see another draft |
|
Hopefully Vietnam taught us a lesson. If a person doesn't want to fight don't make them.
