Lewinsky "adulterer" blames Clinton for "ruining" her "life"
http://news.yahoo.com/fc?tmpl=fc&cid=34&in=us&cat=bill_clinton

Who here recalls that Ms. Lewinsky chased one of her High School Teachers all the way to Washington State and destroyed their marriage!

:argh:

It takes two to tango!!!

She is responsible for ruining our country.

Would Gore have handily won if there was no Monicagate?

2. She should have kept her mouth shut... TWICE
..he was a dog..but she was an eager participant.. She was not a 13 yr old girl who did not know better..

There are times, I wonder if she was not "too eager" to have had that idea all by herself..(winkwinknudgenudgeknowwhatImean?)

She had way more than her 15 minutes of fame...and she has had ample time to make some money off the whole thing, so she just needs to get on with her life..

122. Yes
It always annoyed me how the some in the media portrayed her as this naive young thing who didn't know any better and was taken advantage of by the most politically powerful man in the country, or even the western world. IMO, she was looking to further her own interests by getting involved with the President of the United States. She was 24 wasn't she? Hell, I was married and had two kids before I turned 24. Sorry, but 24 isn't a child, especially a 24-year-old who has gone to undergrad university AND graduated from law school. She knew what she was doing and could have declined to participate in this illicit relationship. She had her own agenda but it blew up in her face because, as you say, she couldn’t keep her mouth shut for any reason.

It takes two to tango and she and Clinton are both guilty. I'm sick of her playing the victim. Whore.

I have no respect for anyone that messes with a married person (and no respect for the married person that messes around).

Plus, she KEPT the blue dress! Cue psycho theme.

I can understand that for a book I guess... but an *interview*?!

WTF is wrong with people?! Is THIS why newsrooms' budgets are being cut left and right? So they can pay outrageous sums to fools for 'interviews' that get the lowest common denominator's attention?

Please let me know a detail or two so I can do a search. My curiosity is piqued now.

I wonder if throwing herself at married men is a habit of hers. Has there been any scoop on her love life since she screwed this country up with her big fat blabbering mouth?

I'm sick of seeing her face, honestly. Why couldn't Bill have picked a discrete woman, like Jennifer Fitzgerald?

and after all, Lewinsky admits to instigating the whole thing.

She's got to be a repig, considering how little responsibility she's taken for the whole thing. So her scheme of dislodging Hillary and Chelsea and taking over as a trophy wife didn't work out. It sure as hell doesn't make her any kind of a victim.

Just go away, Monica. Find some dissolute old fart with a title and marry into privileged obscurity. Just go away.

If Clinton had had the presence of mind to not engage in the act in the first place, i.e. be a responsible husband and public servent, then none of this would be an issue.

Christ, how stupid could the guy be. While running for election he had everyone coming out left and right claiming to have had sex with him behind Hillary's back.

Did he actually think there was no chance of it happening again? Given that it was a big deal during the campaign why would he think this wouldn't be any different?

Sometimes I think people give Clinton too much credit on the intelligence front.

26. Well Clinton could have written his memoirs under a pseudonym...
...say Henry Miller, used fictitious names and titled the book Tropic of Cape Horn (or Horny). Life is stranger than fiction sometimes, so I'm glad he has written and published this book. The truth shall win in the end. As for Ms. Lewinsky, she sounds like no matter what kind of life the good Lord provides to her, she is not likely ever to be happy. She should stop blaming others for her misery and start working on herself.

I'm looking forward to reading Clinton's book, as I'm becoming weary and bored reading about the kind of incompetent, dull, stupid and totally lifeless actions of the likes of George W Bush, BushCo folks and the neo-con fundies freepers who seem to think they have something to contribute to society. Bring on the revolution!:nuke:

Who among us didn't make some pretty big snafus at that age? I'm just glad nothing I did at that age was frozen in time and exposed for all the world to see. Was she stupid, foolish, immoral, and all the rest? Sure. But she was, after all, in her early 20's.

the one who owed the country and his family a duty not to do such a stupid thing. HE chased her as much as she chased him. HE was the middle aged one.

Sorry. When one of the people is much older and experienced, that is the person who I assign blame to in an ill-advised liason. Not that the other person isn't wrong, also. But it would be much easier for him to fool her than the other way around.

I'm stickin' by my guns. No demonizing of young women who get involved with middle-aged politicians. It's the middle-aged politicians who are primarily responsible. (It's not like it's the first time they did that, usually.)

42. her life isn't ruined
Who even knows if she was quoted correctly, I'm losing my trust in the press in this matter. Her life certainly isn't ruined, her entire status as a celebrity is based having flashed a thong and given the president a blowjob. Maybe she has to say these things to keep in the public eye, who knows, but I think the Clintons should just ignore these kind of comments and go on with their lives. I don't think Bill owes anyone an explanation or an apology other than his wife. There is never anything to be gained with hashing things over with an ex. Confronting a past lover, extracting apologies from a past lover -- nothing good ever comes of this and she is delusional if she really expected this from a married man.

110. redqueen, I'm a bit surprised
because I usually agree with you. But in this case, as with most others, there are two sides to the story, and in this thread, and in the one in LBN, most of the venom is being cast at Monica. For example, in your post you refer to Monica as the "serial mistress with loose lips..." If one accepts that as being accurate, if rather crass, then, in the interest of fairness, one could refer to the "Big Dog" as the serial adulterer who fancies mouth to genital contact, lovingly given by loose lipped serial mistresses. I think it would be fair to state that the "encounter" between these two was of mutual benefit.

Last I remember, BC was older, more experienced, married and in the position of greater power, socially, politically, and personally. Evidently, wisdom does not automatically come with age or experience. He is not above criticism.

Edited on Fri Jun-25-04 01:06 PM by Cat Atomic
Seriously- I find this sort of group think very disturbing. It turns on a dime.

Lou Dobbs is the sole voice of reason on television one minute, and he's a corporate whore the next. Lewinsky is a victim of Linda Tripp on minute, and a "fat whore" the next.

Ms. Lewinsky feels let down by the way Bill Clinton portrayed their affair. That's a pretty fair position, I'd say.

Why does everybody attack people when they disagree with some sainted fucking "leader"? Is Bill Clinton so close to God that he's above criticism?

116. What I think is pathetic
is that anyone, anywhere cares enough about a consensual sex act between two adult persons to even have an opinion about it. Let's face it, none of us have been in that precise situation. Can I say I wouldn't have done what either of them did, in those circumstances? No, I cannot. Although I do wash my laundry rather more consistently than that.

But honestly, this continuing Puritanical streak in this culture disturbs me. Half the world is still wrinkling their brows in great puzzlement, wondering why we're so shocked that powerful men sometimes have sex with young women outside their marriages. We're so hypocritical about sex - obsessed with it and ashamed of it at the same time. Bizarre.
