CALL TO ACTION - call the DNC NOW and ask them to boot Zell Miller
Here's the number for the DNC in Washington: 202-863-8000

If anyone has a better number than that, please post it (and please, please help me keep this thread kicked).

If Zell's announcement to speak at the republican convention doesn't qualify as a last straw, then nothing does. He has betrayed our party during one of the most critical moments this country has ever faced. He should not be allowed to put the letter "D" anywhere near his name.

Please call the DNC and let them know, Zell must go.

3. Who the hell cares? Grow a fucking backbone.
"Oh, we don't mind if one of our own is openly campaigning for the biggest parasite ever to plague this nation."

No. I want him OUT. Anybody with two brain cells to rub together already realizes Zell is an opportunistic creep--throwing him out of the party only makes us look good.

4. Rip me all you want...kicking him out will only get him more attention...
He's out of the Senate next year, who gives a fuck after that?

9. I'm not ripping you specifically--but you have to draw the line somewhere.
And campaigning for the party's adversary--especially considering WHO that adversary is--is just flat-out unacceptable.

You know, if it's spun the right way, this would NOT be detrimental for us. It's going to be awfully hard to work up widespread sympathy for a self-serving backstabber.

He should do what Jeffords did--just leave the party. Since he won't do it on his own, we should help him.

13. People w/ a passing interest in poilitics don't know Zell Miller...
All they'll hear is "Democrat thrown out of his own party for expressing his views".

Sad but true...

6. You're wrong
This would only give him tons of free press (you know the media would love this story). Oh, poor Zell. Those wussy dems just couldn't stand to have someone who disagrees with them on their team. Boo hoo!

We are the party with the big tent - remember? This is a really bad idea.

2. Done!
Thanks Shakespeare!

All I needed was the number and enough disgust. Thanks for the extra kick in the butt I needed!

5. Why Not Get Lieberman While We're At It?
He's obviously in the wrong party as well.

8. Lieberman, as much as I dislike him, is not openly campaigning for Bush.
So, no.

7. I doubt that Zell or the DNC give a shit anyway - Zell's retiring. . .
and so is Terry McAuliffe (DNC) after this year. But if you want to blow off steam, be my guest.

10. A photographic reminder of why Zell must go.
He's supporting Bush--which means he's given tacit approval to this, while using our party's name:

Sorry, I'm not shrugging this one off.

11. Miller should not be permitted to address the Republican Convention as
a Democrat. Why should the DNC grant Bush this coup? Miller himself is not the coup; the "D" following his name is.

This is far more than differing inside a Democratic "big tent." He's taken himself outside the tent. Strip him of his "D", which clearly is now used only in aid of Bush.
