My sister has finally melted down and said something so stoooopid......
Said that "Have you foregotten what those people did to us on 9/11?"

In response to my asking what she thought of Bush the torturer. Then she said "We must find the WMD and if torture is what it takes...well then."

I said "So women should have to watch their kids sexually abused to force them to talk? What if those were your kids? What if your Grandson (Who is in Iraq) is captured?" Do you think they will be kind to him?"

My sister...jeezus...she has lived in Texas far too long. She needs to get out more. Fox has completely brainwashed her. When will the nightmare end?

and I also remember that OBL is still out there and that we are at more, not less risk now than before the Iraq war.

9. Here's what I'd say in a torture debate.
"George Bush actually ordered the troops to torture people. We've actually got a signed document, with his signature, ordering the Genea Conventions. So what did he do when the media found out? He didn't take personal responsibility, he blamed it all on the troops."

13. A friend says USians *like* torture, and I suspect he's right
Y'know, we can blame the media and the misadministration all we like, but....... I think the fact remains that something very disturbing has happened to the Murkin psyche, and even a change in power at the top, and changing the media isn't going to solve it.

This society is sick.

We need some high-powered antidote.

16. People have said the same thing to me. Then they argue
when I tell them that Iraqis had nothing to do with 9/11. They demand links. It's ridiculous.

I have a theory about it. They believe America is good. They can't conceive that America would invade a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. People who want to believe that their government is decent have to believe that there was a good reason to invade Iraq.

In their minds, it's easier to dismiss us as wild-eyed liberals than it is to accept that their president is a criminal lunatic.

18. They refuse to accept the truth while al Queda is still ...
running free in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. These people aren't brainwashed. I just can't except that excuse anymore. They are stubborn. We have all been exposed to the same media lies but we all have been exposed to the truth too. So why is half the country wise to what's going on and the other half oblivious? The truth is out there every night on the evening news. Every excuse for this war has fallen apart over time but they refuse to acknowledge that. They have to choose to believe the truth. Until they do they are as big a threat to this country as al Queda. If and when they do then we can begin to fight the war we should have been fighting all along.

19. Speaking of freepers...
I was telling my buddy at work about the latest "adjustment" to the economic growth of the first quarter when a salesperson showed up looking for the boss. She said "Y'all are Democrats, aren't you?"
Then came one of the strangest discussions I've ever taken part in.
She said "Why do y'all hate George Bush so?" My buddy, also a veteran, said "Because he sent our boys off to die for nothing!"
She said, "Well, what about what they did to us?"
I said "They didn't do anything to us!"
"They knocked down the twin towers!", she said.
Me: "How many Iraqis do you think were on those planes?"
She: "I don't know...4 or 5..."
Me: "There were NO Iraqis on those planes."
She: "Well Iraq helped with it!"
Me: "No they didn't, your own president said so!"
She: "The Taliban is over there...:
Me: "The Taliban are in Afghanistan...they've been in Afghanistan all along, and they weren't on those planes either. We should have gone into Afghanistan after bin Laden and al Qaeda full force, but instead we left a comparative handful there and sent 140,000 troops to Iraq for nothing except oil and grief."
She: "Well we needed to go there because we had to take out Saddam and Osama!"
Me: "Osama is in Afghanistan!"
She: "No he is not...he was in Iraq, and we took him out...him and Saddam!"
Me: Ma'am, Osama is in Afghanistan...your president's own generals say so."
She: "No he isn't. We killed him. It's that other guy...Ben something, who's in Afghanistan!"
Me: (Incredulously)"Bin Laden?"
She: "Ben Laden!"
Me: "Osama bin Laden is one guy!"
She: "No, that's two different people. We killed Osama."
Me: Speechless...dumbfounded..."*"
At this point my buddy started laughing...I think he's still laughing now. Me, I think it's pretty sad that idiots like her are allowed to vote.
And when she left she said, "Y'all will never turn me against George Bush!"
:wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

34. I was going to start a thread with it but I saw this thread
was a moran thread. I was telling one of the IT guys about it upstairs and another guy came up and said "Jane Doe?"(name withheld).
I said "I don't know...she said she was married to a cop..."
He said, "Yup...that's 'Jane' alright!" Evidently she has a reputation for being, er...sub-par.
I told him "I know it's only one tiny little vote, man, but do me a favor. Next time you see her tell her that kids could end up getting drafted or killed because of that one tiny vote someday and she really should treat it with more respect."

36. Either he's stupid or he just doesn't give a crap....
I'm beginning to think it's both.

Jon Stewart had an excellent point about Bush STILL not knowing hot to pronouce Abu Ghraib prison.

He just couldn't care less....that's even more frightening than his C-average (with extra grade inflation for being poppy's son) intellect.
