American presidential candidate Ralph Nader has joined filmmaker Michael Moore in calling on Canadians not to vote Conservative when they cast their ballots Monday.

"Stephen Harper and the Conservatives have plans for crippling the commonwealth and security of the Canadian standard of living, known worldwide as just about the finest among sizable nations," Nader said in an open letter to Canadians dated Friday and obtained by CTV.ca.

In his letter, Nader attacks Harper's health care stance, warning that Harper is "sympathetic" to a Fraser Institute plan to privatize the system.

and yet I don't see Ralph traveling around urging everyone not to vote for W this time around.

Oh, I forgot. We can't expect him to bite the hand that's feeding him.

I noticed that "Nader, who is running as an independent in the upcoming U.S. election said Canadian anger over the sponsorship scandal is understandable, but urges voters not to "overreact" and cast their ballots in favour of the Conservatives.

In the U.S., he is banking on people who are overreacting against the big-tent Democratic Party and luring them with the illusion of the "protest vote". Isn't his whole reason for running in '00 and '04 is because HE overreacted against Gore (and this time, apparently, now he's against ALL who want Bush out)?

I say there's not ENOUGH reaction to his own little "sponsorship scandal". Scandalous because he's partially supported by his supposed "opposition".

Well, that's true democracy for ya!
