7. I'm happy and PISSED at the same time |
|
It's an incredible movie. It will exceed your expectations and I'm very happy Moore made it.
However, I'm pissed that he had to make it in order for Americans to be told the truth about what is going on. I'm pissed that all this information is and has been readily available for the American media to fully report and yet they didn't. I knew most of what was in that movie, but why? How? Because I go on DU several times a week and read the links to the stories that DUers comb over every day all day. If I only went with what CNN and network news fed me, I would be completely ignorant.
It's disgusting to know that many Americans will have to pay money for two hours of information on what their government is up to. It's certainly better than having nothing, but this movie shouldn't be our only option.
Okay, rant over. Thanks!

Little right-wing pea brains are exploding everywhere. They have seen the truth, and they can't handle it. Not only are they wrong, but they are in the minority, after all. Blam -- there! Blam -- over there! RW pseudo-brains all over the place.

I just got back from seeing it. This area of my state has been republican ever since the Civil War. As conservative as the area is, and considering that I was going on a Friday afternoon when most people are at work, I had expected the theater would probably be half full for the first showing.
When my friend and I arrived at the theater a half hour before the movie started, the parking lot was nearly full, and there was a line of people waiting to buy tickets at the box office! There was one "protestor" there. He was wearing a T shirt that said something like "proud to be a republican", had no sign, and this kid wasn't even old enough to vote (he looked like a typical freeptard). Needless to say, he looked a bit overwhelmed by the number of people who had shown up to see the movie. I couldn't help laughing as I was standing in line and seeing him.
On entering the theater, very few seats remained empty, but my friend and I were fortunate enough to get fairly good ones. Throughout the movie there was occasional applause, and at the end very loud applause. As everyone was walking out, a lady nearby was smiling and telling her companion how glad she was to see so many people there, that she often felt no one else shared her political outlook. As she looked my way, I smiled at her and told her I agreed with her.
I wish I could go back every day to see F 9/11.
