Sock it to this conservative radio poll in fundy South Carolina
A poll now on the site of station WORD in the heart of fundamentalist South Carolina:

http://www.newsradioword.com/

------------------

Vice President Dick Cheney, shall we say, used a very colorful metaphor on the floor of the U.S. Senate. What is your opinion on the behavior of the Vice President?

37.31%
I am sure that most members of the senate have used that term.

35.82%
It is no big deal.

20.89%
He should apologize.

5.970%
Cheney has lost it.

Total Votes: 134

------------------

Let's let them have it.

8. Other than for the obvious hipocrisy --
Edited on Fri Jun-25-04 03:51 PM by slavkomae
I really don't care. I'm not goint to lower myself to the Freeps' level and harp on a swear word that he said. Meanwhile, he's destroying the world, and I'm supposed to be upset he said "fuck"?

If anything, this made me a little giddy, because the next time they bring up a liberal who used "indecent" language (whatever that means), we can just remind them of this.

But to pretend I'm offended or think this is a big deal, I won't.

14. Gosh, I think all of the above.
Most members of congress probably have used that word before.

It's not a huge deal, really.

He should apologize, it was rather rude.

He has certainly lost it. (so that's how I voted. :-) )

17. So did they read the results at 5?
And how did dear old WORD-AM (which is where I first heard "Lady Madonna," "Free Bird," and That Damned Mike Gallagher) try to spin it: "over 60% say that Cheney hasn't lost it?"

18. The assholes misreported the results at 5 PM
Edited on Fri Jun-25-04 04:17 PM by LastDemocratInSC
At 5 PM EST they said 20% No Big Deal, 20% Most members have used that word.

They DID NOT mention 42% Cheney has lost it.

Wimps.

Edit - I heard 28%, and they may have said that, but the figures are 20%. I probably misheard what the guy said.

By the way, this is THE STATION for the Bob Jones University crowd.

24. Good job, folks! They are no longer reporting any of the poll numbers
They normally report the poll numbers up until 6 PM EST. They haven't said a thing for almost an hour.

They are now talking about "elite media" and how important it is for "local media" to "tell the truth" about political issues and lambasting "liberal media" about lying about the war and the Resident.

The current numbers:

--------------

45.45%
Cheney has lost it.

20.27%
It is no big deal.

18.53%
I am sure that most members of the senate have used that term.

15.73%
He should apologize.

Total Votes: 286

26. Final results - Thanks to you they never mentioned the poll after 5 PM
Edited on Fri Jun-25-04 05:05 PM by LastDemocratInSC
I called the station and asked them to remind their listeners of the poll results and they cut me off. That's all that I said to them.

WORD spend the entire last hour lambasting Michael Moore, F/911, and the "liberal media".

Thanks to all of you. You did a GREAT JOB today!

Thanks to all of you !!!!!

--------------------

46.51%
Cheney has lost it.

19.93%
It is no big deal.

17.94%
I am sure that most members of the senate have used that term.

15.61%
He should apologize.
