If F911 ad was edited to eliminate the Shrub face, would it |
|
still be against new FEC regulations?
As I see it, it's just an ad for a movie if the AD didn't show any scenes with the Shrubs face. The rest of the ad just looks like a war movie.
If this is the only argument the Pubs have that would stick, couldn't we make them shut up and go away by just altering the ad a little?

en that's the answer! I also just heard that it will be on DVD in Sept. |
|
Maybe that's the ad that should run to advertise the DVD!

3. Will they really need ads 30 days before the election? |
|
Word of mouth should have taken care of the publicity by then.
Also: Does that mean Fox News has to go dark for a month?

5. The ads would be barred 30 days before the RNC convention, |
|
not 30 days before the election. Anyone know when the RNC convention is? September? If in September, then the ads would have to stop in August.

As I understand it, Ads can't be run, but people can still voice opinions. Since this is the first year that this law is in effect, we'll have to wait and see how the lawyers try to work around it, and you know they will.
I am sure of one thing......the pundits will NEVER shut their mouth! edited for spelling. ;O(

I think that Moore would challenge this in court. It would be the BEST advertising possible.
BTW, I heard a Republican FEC member on NPR yesterday. He seemed to indicate that he thought ads for the movie would be covered as "journalism".
Personally, I think all these groups organizing boycotts against F911 are only helping the film. You see, it's only a boycott if you stop people from seeing it who WOULD HAVE SEEN IT. I meat boycott by vegetarians really isn't that effective. And the media accompanying it would only help meat sales.

8. Yes, I heard Moore on seshows today. He said KEEP IT UP! |
|
He said he doesn't have enough money to buy the publicity this controversy has given his film.
My problem with the Pubs is that they think if they make enough noise, they can squelch the opposition. I DON'T LIKE THAT! I was just suggenting a way to make 'em put their tails between their legs and go home!

9. First let me say that I just say 9/11 |
|
and I thought it was awesome. I do agree, however, that the ads can definatly be seen as campaign ads, and I really don't have a problem with people contesting them.
Of course, if all they need to do is get Bush out of them, I think thats fine. Some of the most powerful moments didn't have Bush in them at all. Show the soldier who won't go back, or the soldier who says a piece of you dies when you kill someone else, or the mother who lost her son.
We really can't lose this battle.
