Tears, exhaustion, and a special place in hell for G.W. Bush |
|
Edited on Fri Jun-25-04 05:26 PM by bunnyj
I saw F 9/11 earlier this afternoon. I'm exhausted from crying, laughing, and burning with rage. Make no mistake, Bush is gonna burn in hell when he departs this earth. He is evil. What is being done in our names is evil. Pure evil. The mother of the dead soldier, the dead Iraqi children, the screams of the wounded American soldiers - chilling and heartbreaking.
Who could watch this movie and still endorse G.W. Bush? No sane person could. We have got to get people to see this movie, so that, as one, we can vote that asshole out.
The theater is in a pretty small town in Republican country in W. PA. To my surprise, there were lots of elderly people there. About 50 people total, and some applause at the end of the movie.
As DUers, we will likely not be surprised at what is in the movie - we've discussed most of this for years. Neophytes will be boggled.

2. Just because I am new to DU |
|
Doesn't mean I haven't been paying attention. Bush has been bad for this country since day one. He'll burn, alright.

5. Yes indeed - he will burn. |
|
Didn't mean to imply that only DUers would be aware of this stuff - there are plenty of good, informed people out there!
Welcome to DU! :toast:

3. I just came back from F911. |
|
Saw the cheap midafternoon show at a mall about 30 miles NW of Boston.
I've been to this theater countless times, and at the early shows during the week you can usually count the patrons using only your fingers and toes.
This show was FULL.
By the reaction of the audience though, I think that Moore was preaching to the choir.
Thanks to DU, there wasn't much in the movie that I didn't already know Ñ but it was presented in such a powerful way that even I was impressed.
Even the "choir" needs information. I overheard the man in the next seat inform his wife that the guy spitting on his comb before running it through his greasy locks(Wolfowitz) was "Caspar Weinberger". Ouch.

7. The people who will really benefit from the movie |
|
are those that are on the fence. MM has said that they have noted a lot of people on the fence before seeing the movie have made a decision by the end of the movie. Although I can't confirm they actually said they will vote for Kerry just that it wouldn't be the chimp.

8. You're absolutely right.... |

I got my best friend, who hinted about 4 months ago that she just might vote for Bush, to commit to seeing this movie on Monday. the only reason she agreed is because the people in her office are talking about it and how Moore is only doing it to make money, and I said well, let's go see it for ourselves and she agreed. hehehehe Come Monday night she'll no longer be sitting on the fence, but will have fallen off to our side. She's a Dem, but feels sorry for Bush because everybody's picking on him - go figure.

10. I think there are a lot more people - |

in need of her sympathy. That's great that you're getting her to see it. I have one of those friends and my mother too. I'm actually seeing the movie tonight and then will take my mother and that particular friend next week.

w/ U. I saw it in the heart of Orange County - Irvine. The theatre was full @ 11:00 AM...all ages...applause lasted a good 3-4 minutes...people very slow 2 get up 2 leave.
My son, who had not seen the election night whoreporate media see-saw, he had 2 work...was shocked. As we were driving home, a friend of his called. He mentioned we just left the movie. " No way,' I heard him say, 'it was anything but dumb. It is deeply disturbing!"
I was very impressed w/ the way Moore treated Sept. 11. He let the audience run their private movie of that day.
I'm w/ Jeanene Garafalo - ANYONE supporting squatter is 2 B viewed as having a major character flaw! The only people supporting him R in very serious deep, deep, deep denial.
edit 2 add: I kept hinking the same thing - these rat bastards R going 2 hell..express!
