OMG- I'm in Fahrenheit 911...
at least i think i am...i'll have to wait for the DVD to stop action the scene.
at the beginning of the film, there are scenes from the protests at the coronation of the lil' dictator, and one of the scenes shows the big blue with white lettering banner: "Bush Cheated", that I made, and my wife and i drove to DC with. Somehow we ended up carrying it at the front of the march from Dupont circle to the line of cops at 14 & K streets...

3. Hey! Good for You...See how just a few people can make a difference!
All this time has passed and yet what you and your wife did in protest ends up in a damning movie causing a huge stir that might help bring the Chimp down.

It's those "radom acts of protest" that work in mysterious ways. Thanks for reporting this. I'm seeing the movie Sunday and this will be great to look for! :yourock:

7. btw- this film's weekend numbers will be HUGE...
I went to a 1:50 afternoon showing, on a gorgeous chicago day- not a cloud in the sky, temps in the low-mid 70's, plenty of warm sunshine...and the theatre was PACKED, and the rest of the showings for the afternoon & night at the evanston theatre were already sold out.

look for record receipts for a documentary on it's opening weekend in the north & west hemispheres...

17. Full houses in Canada (Edmonton) too!
I had to go to the 7pm show after work, but the cashier said that the first two shows in the afternoon were sold out. It was a beautiful day here as well, and it is very unusual for the theatre to be packed on a weekday - never mind a beautiful day (we haven't had a lot of nice weather lately). This has got to tell you something!

The movie was great, but I've been following all this shit with * since 2000, so it wasn't very shocking. Everyone in the theatre applauded at the end though - something I haven't seen in a movie theatre.

11. Hoorah!
F911 was the FIRST time I REALLY saw footage of the scale and intensity of the protests on Coronation Day.

I remember following reports from people on forums like this that day, and having things described as such, but did not see any such depiction in the media. Today was the first time I ever saw such footage.

Moore describes it in pretty strong terms -- that such a passionate protest was unprecedented in our history. Can anyone comment on that?

14. Inauguration protests
I remember hearing about them on leftist discussion boards, but I never saw any TV coverage. (I didn't want to watch the Bush inauguration on CSPAN, and I attended a counter-inauguration in Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square instead.)

However, the only mention of them that I ever heard in a media outlet was when Daniel Schor was talking on NPR and saying that he had covered ever inauguration since 1956 and had never seen such protests.

Otherwise, I think there was a one-sentence remark in the New York Times.

16. The lack of media coverage of the inauguration protests
enraged me, and, in retrospect, truly radicalized me. That was the day I truly woke up to what our country had become. The anger that I knew I and millions were feeling was quietly ignored by the media, while the cameras refused to pull back to show the protesters, and the media whores began their lying spiels about "we're all Americans; we set aside differences on a day like this." BULLSHIT. That fucker Bush stole the election, killed American Democracy, and I will NEVER get over it!

Love your signature line. I won't be voting for this dude, or any of his minions! Just hoping some people in ultra-conservative Alberta (Canada's twin of Texass) will go for the Liberals or NDP.
