CBS Evening News MIA tonight in this corner of freeperland. Saturday. |
|
I had local news on here. The CBS affiliate. At the bottom of the hour when they would usually show the national news from CBS. Nothing. They just kept on with local drivel. Now I know CBS has an half hour evening news on Saturdays. What was on it? Something so truthful about Bush's excellent European Adventure that the local affiliate here in this part of freeperland just couldn't bear to show it?
I turned to ABC and no coverage of Bush in Ireland, just a little mention of his next stop being Turkey? They also had a fluff piece on an Iraqi who is keeping the Mosul dam stable by pumping thousands of gallons of cement into the bedrock under it day after day. And a preview for tomorrow night about a northern Iraqi town "totally untouched" by the war. ABC also had a segment on 'documentaries' that are anti-war and anti-Bush. Barely little mention of FH911 to start it off and no mention of the huge box office for it this opening wekend. Then on to a small documentary maker whose documentary focuses on "oil being the main reason for the war." Then on to how documentaries by their nature are 'dissent'. Then the piece concluded with these final words, I kid you not: "There is no eveidence to show that a documentary has ever had an effect at the ballot box."
ABC is in full shill mode for BFEE.

7. Let's see. The first ten minutes were not kind to Bush. |
|
It covered the taking of three Turkish hostages by Zarqawi and threats to execute them as an embarrassment to Bush.
After a clip of Senor saying that the success of the CPA would be measured how Iraqis support democracy, the correspondent in Baghdad said that most Iraqis measure the success of the CPA by their security; she then added that by that standard, most Iraqis consider the occupation a failure.
Then it covered anti-Bush demonstrations in Ireland.

I'm unable to tell you what my local news showed as I no longer watch any form of USSA Pravda corporate news.

6. East Coast had CBS News tonight....and all about Ireland |
|
They showed the protesters. They showed clips of Clinton, Kennedy, & Nixon being cheered over there when they went. And then went straight to the protesters.
One protester said that it was nothing more than a photo-op so Bush could look good to the Irish Americans.
They also did a story about a preacher in NY, organizing a protest of sorts for the RNC, calling on everyone to be talking in their cell phones but reading the Bill of Rights at the same time...its very hard to explain,... (sorry)
