watch Hannah Storm's interview with Michael Moore |
|
Storm is incredibly condescending. She reminds me of every annoying "human resources" manager I've ever met. No offense to any DUer in that honorable profession. :-) http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/06/25/earlyshow/leisure/celebspot/main626088.shtml

1. Moore is great with these interviews. My favorite response: |
|
She quoted Christopher Hitchens who called the movie "a synister exercise in moral frivolity cruelly disguised as an exercise in seriousness." For example, Storm mentioned the scene where the president is in a classroom in Sarasota, Fla., after he learned that the nation was under attack on Sept. 11. Moore puts a timer on the scene and uses a voiceover.
Asked if that is fair, Moore says, “Well, sure. First of all, it’s satire. The thoughts I’m voicing in his head are my humor. Actually, I think it’s very generous that I’m even assuming he had thoughts in his head.”
LOL LOL LOL. I mean, that's a funny line. He's a funny guy, whether you agree with him or not.

4. what was her point, anyway? |
|
of fucking COURSE Moore's relaying Bush's thoughts is not "fair." What kind of stupid twit would ask such a thing.
I liked when he said the CBS Evening News is propaganda. That sent Ms. Storm into a real tizzy. :-)

21. It would be cool if... |
|
Michael Moore would use quotes from the Hitchens "review" when an someone brings it up in an interview. Such as:
"By all means go and see this terrible film, and take your friends..."
He should then ask people to take Hitchens advice - go see it, and encourage others to see it as well. Or:
"I never quite know whether Moore is as ignorant as he looks, or even if that would be humanly possible."
He could then ask if the "jounalist" thinks it is unfair not to present all the "facts" of the article they just mentioned.

These people think they are so much smarter than everyone else. They look at Michael Moore and think they are dealing with some shlub from Flint. Moore has long ago figured what people working in news and the media are all about. He knows they are full of themselves. I think he should of just talken the cue from the Honorable Richard Cheney and told her to go F**k herself!

7. They try to lecture him on objectivity - he pleads for the Fourth Estate.. |
|
And he always wins. And do you know the funny part: no one tries a fresh attack because NONE OF THEM THINKS FOR THEMSELVES - THEY ARE ALL READING THE ADMINISTRATION'S TALKING POINTS.

It's like they are robots, if the interview gets off their talking points you notice the sparks coming from their ears.

|
Ms. Couric also agreed with Micheal Moore that in hindsight there needed to have more question concerning the need to go to war.

9. Hanna Storm is a worthless piece of shit media whore bitch |
|
She's the reason our country is fucked up beyond belief. She cares more about he fat paycheck and sucking up to the powers that be than she does for truth.
The dirt on the soles of my shoes is of more value to this world than she is...

10. When Moore gets aggressively interviewed like that, he should say "that's |
|
how you should have been interviewing Bush and other administration officials. Isn't it ridiculous that you're asking ME hard questions merely because I'm willing to ask questions. It proves you're CAPABLE of asking hard questions. Now we have to wonder why you're so selective about whom you ask the hard questions."
He should also say that if CBS and the media had been doing their job -- providing the truth rather than the BS they call "balance" then this movie would be in 200 theaters and would be gone in two weeks because people wouldn't be starving for the truth. That this movie is huge just proves how desperately crappy the real "news" is in America.
If Hannah doesnt' like satire as method for delivering information, she merely needs to do her job and there'd be no market for satire. Satire works in this situation only because the news media is such a joke.

The networks know who butters their bread. My parents and others like them ... no wait, my parents are hardcore Fox "news" people. Sorry, my mistake.

What a slimeball that woman is. He really kicked ass and got his point across in an amazingly short amount of time! Those questions about "balance" really piss me off because the guy is a fucking filmmaker! He's not a journalist! He's never claimed to be a journalist! They are the ones who are supposed to have some responsibility to the public not an independent documentary filmmaker!
