Those doggone "liberal" media are at it again!
Republican Congressman Steve King of Iowa has just returned from a trip to Iraq. Regarding the government transition that's scheduled to take place in Iraq June 30, King blamed all of the turmoil in Iraq on the liberal media causing the dissension.

Elsewhere in the newspaper, columnist Jack Kelly, a former Green Beret and full-time Republican cheerleader, was bitching and moaning about all of the negative press from Iraq, when there is so much positive news coming from there. To make his point, he mentions a U.S. soldier who risked his life to rescue others during gunfire. Fine. But it was the only example he gave and it occurred in April of 2003. Is that the best you can do, Jack? One story from 15 months ago. Certainly, if there are so many silver linings from this war, you could have rattled off several examples more recently than 15 months ago.

How desperate can you be in an argument?

If you want to make things a little more difficult for Steve King, you can support his opponent, Joyce Schulte.

It's a conservative district and her chances are slim, but I'm so anti-Steve King that I donated to her, anyway.

Steve King also said that being a prisoner in Iraq is like pledging a "fraternity."
