Gwen Ifill (PBS Wash Week): is she another RW conservative black
anchor? She appeared in MTP and many of the RW points, even against Moore's film.
Some of her comments during MTP: turning point in Iraq war is the handover. Bush using Kerry's approach is helping Bush.

Ifill has affection for ACCURACY!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHA.
Critizicing Michael Moore. He puts things out there so he is acting like Bush: people must make their decision as to what to believe.

Europeans loved Moore because he is a pamphleteer and HE BASHES AMERICA.
hmmmmmmm.......

1. she's unbearable
I actually used to like her, she's capable of being a good interviewer.

But she seems to have decided to be one of the worst whores out there. "Washington Week" is one of the most unprofessional news shows, it has this awful "clubby" tone to it.

And I think the most dishonest thing I've seen anywhere is when "Washington Week" cut off clips of both Edwards and Kerry speeches in order not to mess up the dishonest point Ifill and her panel were making. It was unbelievable, and no one from PBS has ever answered my numerous complaints.

2. I listened to her...
Edited on Sun Jun-27-04 09:09 AM by slor
in utter disgust, but I'm glad the other loser (r.brownstein) on that panel at least conceded that the power of the second half of F911 could not be denied.

4. I believe she is rather objective
Although she does have a sarcastic streak, steeped in Washington politics as she is.

A decent interview with her: http://dir.salon.com/people/conv/2000/12/18/ifill/index.html

I seriously doubt that she's a rightwinger. I believe she is a Christian and probably has conservative views on some issues, and liberal views on others.

14. Why is "sarcasm" (cynicism, maybe?) acceptable in DC?
When we were twelve or so, being sarcastic was cutting edge. But at Ifill's age. . . .

5. I can't stand Gwen Ifill
I quit watching Washing Week because it seemed to me that they all sat around that table tee-hee-ing with one another...barely disguised ridicule of anyone who wasn't to the right of GW. Whenever she's standing in for Lehrer on the News Hour, sometimes I just turn it off. Lehrer isn't much better, but I think he disguises it more effectively - at least it doesn't feel like someone scratching their finger down a blackboard.

As for MTP this morning, I only saw the last 15 min., but heard her bashing F911. She was quite animated in her attempts to dismiss Moore's "juxtaposing" as she put it, Bush and his relationship with the Saudis, without addressing any of the reasonable questions one might have about that situation. Bah!!

6. "Washington Week In Review" is now "Washington Whores On Parade"
or better still- "The Gwen Ifil Feel good Gab-fest"...

I long for the days of Paul Duke or Ken Bode... but those days will never return.
When she's on The NewsHour I turn it off. No longer watch WWoP after one of
the "journalists" on the panel was asked about Gore's riveting speech at NYU and
started off by saying "Well, clearly- Al Gore is still very upset about the 2000 election
results"... *click*

Well in the words of our inimitable vice-president- Gwen Ifil should "go f*ck herself".

7. I remember an article mentioning Condi having dinner...
at her house. Maybe hanging out with Condi has changed Gwen's perspective.

11. Her best friend in Washington is Condi Rice
She came and gave a speech in Akron, Ohio. I think she spent ten minutes going on and on about Condi. Afterwards she was surprised by the questions from the audience, which were 90% anti-Bush.

13. you people are juxtapositioning!
Just because Gwen Ifill and Condi are buddies doesn't mean there is a connection between Gwen's remarks on F911.

There you go again!

16. Absolute Repug whore.
After the selection, many viewers wrote to PBS and asked that Bush* not be called President-Elect. Ifill was appalled and sneered, Bush won so get used to it, he is the President-Elect and that's what we'll call him.

She started with the Wall Street Journal, so you know just from that she's working the wrong side of the street.

19. Yep.
Before I was paying attention, I used to assume, based simply on her being female and African-American, that she would at least be neutral, if not left of neutral.

Then I started paying attention.

However, since the torture photos, I detect a bit of unsettledness in her. The smugness seems to have a bit of a crack in it sometimes.

If she IS close to Condi, Condi probably feeds her a load of horse manure every week. And Gwen probably thinks she is one lucky duckie.

after his magnificent speech last month. She sniped Michael Moore this morning. She sucks the big one in my opinion.

20. People of all ages, races, ethnicities, cultures...
have equal oportunity to be stupid, niave, gullible, blind, and easily duped by the RW and their policies. It does not suprise me in the least.

conservative voices Armstrong williams, juan williams, larry elder, and others who seem to get more air time than others.
