What's the Matter With Kansas? a new book

http://www.buzzflash.com/premiums/04/06/pre04022.html

What's the Matter with Kansas? How the Conservatives Won the Heart of America.

-snip-

First, you need to understand the basic premise of "What's the Matter." A young journalist, Thomas Frank, returns to his home to state to ponder how Kansas -- once a hot bed of agrarian populism -- had evolved into a red state that epitomizes how middle class white America has been seduced by the lure of the right wing. It is a Republican Party/Swindler leadership that exploits the residents of fly-over country into self-cannibalizing themselves by supporting an ideology that dooms them to diminishing job opportunities and lower wages.

1. I am currently reading it.
A friend who has finished says it is one hell of an analysis.

5. Would it be appropriate to buy it
for my Faux news watching, Bush-can-do-no-wrong parents that live in Kansas? Would it offend them? I've bought books for them before (Palast, Franken) that sit on their shelf untouched.

6. I'm not very far into it yet. Maybe the Amazon blurb will help.

I think it might piss Mom and Dad off and they won't believe it. Good luck.

I saw it about a month ago, the author (who quite funny actually) mentions that its the people who have the LEAST to gain and MOST to lose from the GOP politics that are most dedicated to them
