So, Friday night I went to see F/911 in San Antonio |
|
and how the audience ROARED at all the terror warnings in the film we were told to be afraid of...model airplanes, poison pens, etc.
Well, sure enough, Saturday morning, I turn on CNN & what do I see first?? A new "danger danger will robinson danger danger" terrorism alert!! Just then my phone rang & it was the friend I had seen the movie with Friday....she had seen the report & was laughing so hard she could barely speak.
My Lord, you'd think the Bushies would get their timing down a little better.....as if I & all the other people who saw F/911 the night before weren't going to tell our friends & family members about that particular scene in the movie when the "new terra alert" came up in conversation....sheesh.

Got to watch the movie in two countries (seriously)
Yesterday my hubby and I went to watch it at a theater catering to the working class. There were whoops and hurrahs and aplause throughout, and you know what guys, it did not bother me one bit. Heck I joined in... at places where it was needed.
The second country as it was, well today I went with a friend to watch it at a theater catering to the well to do. There was silence, as in stone silence almost throughout the movie. When the lights came on... I turned my eyes, and all I saw was shock. It looked as if these folks had been hit in the gut. It was visceral and it was powerful... and I think most actually started connecting the major dots in the movie.
I wondered, when we watched it last night, why Moore did not add more dots as it were. After all, for those of us who have been paying attention there was not much new in the movie, though I did connect one very subtle dot, for the LIHOP group. George's daddy left the Carlyle group meeting and was grounded in Milwakee, folks that was for one goal alone, plausible deniability. Now it was one more of them drips, drips, drips adding to that theory.
But after watching the folks in this very well to do theater seating there in shock I realized, Michael Moore could not add much more to the film without risking... information overload.
By the way, cities in question, La Jolla for the latter and San Diego for the former, never mind they are connected

Does anyone know a site where someone has pulled the facts from the film that can be used to contradict those claiming it's untruthful? My local newspaper has run two political cartoons in a row implying that there is no truth in it. I'd like to be able to set forth the facts that Moore brought to light in the films. Any suggestions?

11. I have yet to hear (or read) anyone giving a specifice example.... |
|
of where Moore is not telling the truth. The anti-Moore folks are repeating like robots that he is a liar, but not giving a single example to back that claim up! :wtf:

8. I saw F9/11 in Santa Fe on Friday night. |

Long lines waiting to get in. Mostly mature adults. Most deeply sympathetic to Moore's thesis, and all -- as far as I could tell -- deeply appreciated the film.
I tossed and turned all night afterwards. So much to digest, even though I knew all the facts and more from being here at DU. The film has an emotional intensity that the printed word just cannot match. I rate F9/ll as a documentary tour de force, of immense potential impact.
F9/11 just adds to the passion for change here in Santa Fe, and is also likely to fuel the sustainability movement. Take care of your own backyard (clean water, farms, off the grid power arrangements, hybrid vehicles). Those are good directions for the energy aroused by this film, and I'm pleased to say there is a lot of that kind of activity around here.
The emotional response from the film will undoubtedly also go into local political activity, and dozens of things are already planned as followups here in Santa Fe.. But Kerry has yet to win the hearts and minds of the many people out here who are against Bush. He's gotta give a us SOME REASONS to vote form him -- a big, strong, sustainable platform, and more -- a clear, moral vision.
PS - I have heard many anecdotal reports from friends and acquaintances around town of Republicans who saw the film and had the scales fall from their eyes. F9/11 is Raising Profound Questions for a lot of Republican and Independent minds. That is so important.
Inquiring minds want to know...how corrupt is BushCo?

I went to the 3:15 Friday showing at Century 24. There were several in the audience who must have been fence sitters because they were gasping at info almost overload, like: I didn't know that.
