NEED HELP: list of democratic Mayors...

A RW nutcase is saying that all cities with high crime problems have liberals (read that dems) in charge and this proves that dems are what's wrong with this country.

I've been trying to find a list of democratic mayors to compare them to crime rate list and have yet to find either. I've even searched the DU links and the following links and can't find a good list or any kind of list at all:

http://www.usmayors.org/
http://www.ncdm.org

Thanx for any and all your help,

d

1. NCDM (National Council of Democratic Mayors)
Has a list -- click on the 'members' link on the front page. It may not be comprehensive, but it does include many of them sorted by committees.

3. Somewhat true because
Republican Mayors don't enforce the laws...

4. That is such an ignorant correlation. Does crime go up in the same city
after a Democrat is elected and down when a Republican is elected?

I really doubt it.

5. Don't know
But if you don't correct for the size of the city, you're going to get bogus stats. If large cities tend to have Dem mayors and small cities and towns have Repug mayors, you could find an effect that has nothing to do with the party of the mayor, per se.

This sounds like another one of their "if dirt could vote" gambits. That's the one where they show on a map that Bush won most of the land in the country (Repug states being large but unpopulated). They then claim that he got the majority of the landowners. (Who, of course, are more worthy people than renters.) I told the idiot freeper who passed that along to me that homeowners in NY and CA would be astonished to discover that they aren't landowners.

What I'd do is ask the freeper to prove his point. If it's what I suspect, then just tell him that people in large cities tend to be more liberal than people in small cities and towns.

Better yet, just blow him off.
