Friedman out for 3 months to read "Earth is Flat", duh.... |
|
This is from the intro to todays column in NYT. Sorry, have hard copy only, no link.
Man, I'll be glad to see this bush-supporter, iraq-war pusher, self-aggrandizer not writing for a while.

"I believe the main reason the Abu Ghraib prison scandal happened was because U.S. forces in Iraq were facing an uprising and had no intelligence."
Anything but accept responsibility. Well, it's probably a good time for him to "go on sabbatical" since he has about 30 columns from last year with dead-wrong, indefensible positions. See ya (hope not)

3. As an apologist for the War on the Iraqi people and a |

propagandist for Israel, he never lets an opportunity to talk down about Arab people pass unnoticed. His constant talk about how Arabs should be taken to India and China to witness what a glorious future they can have if only they would become more "civilized" like Indians and Chinese falls in this category. No where does he talk about the fact Iraq is the cradle of civilization as we know it.

4. Well, at least two things are correct there: |
|
1. They are facing an uprising, and that's an understatement.
2. Clearly they are not intelligent, or they wouldn't be there to begin with.
3. However, facing an uprising from a population you intended to conquer and being stupid does not excuse torture. Torture is a war crime. I hope the war crimes (from Smirk on down) are prosecuted one day.
The Nazi hunters are still rounding up the last couple of living Nazis who committed war crimes. I'm hoping someone will be this determined when one day it is possible to round up all the American war criminals.

5. Mr "Give War a Chance" |
|
"France is Our Enemy" calls for the end of the War on Terrorism. Because he doesn't want to spend the "rest of his career" writing about that tiresome shit.
Once again, Tom's column is All About Tom. He's the Peggy Noonan for the secularist futurist set.

6. In another thread I wondered if any of the drumbeaters for the war |
|
have any of their children or relatives serving in the Armed Forces in Iraq. Friedman should be high on the list of people I would like to check out.
