2. Very well...for us at least
More protesting is a good thing. Plus, I got to see a video clip of a real live Irish jourr..jur...damn...I think they're called journalists?? asking real questions for a change. I don't get to see that on American news.

5. Because they don't have to worry about being denied further access.
That's what hamstrings the WH Press Corps.

A reporter steps out of line.

Rove calls their boss.

Denial of access is threatened.

The reporter is reassigned.

8. this only works when most of the media lacks a backbone
If the WH wants to be an asshole and limit the access of journalists who ask serious, hard questions (in time of war I might add) then one would think it would be in the best interest for the entire news industry to fight back. But no. The industry doesn't back up the reporters who do their job well.

Does having the freedom of press really even matter if the press cowers from bullies? Freedom is pointless when you refuse to exercise it.

6. Actually, it ws on
I saw a snippet of the interview on the CBS evening news on Friday. It was really funny. * said something and then paused, obviously done with his answer. She started to challenge his answer, and he protested "Let me finish." He had finished as anyone with a brain could see.
