Biggest Opening EVER in less than 1000 theatres!!!
Edited on Sun Jun-27-04 03:46 PM by peabody71
"In terms of raw dollars, Fahrenheit is actually the biggest opening EVER for a movie playing at less than 1,000 theaters, topping Rocky III's $12.4 million at 939 venues."

3. 3 million Americans
saw the movie this weekend, according to the article. The current US population is 293,596,412 from the census bureau. (what's the percentage of Americans who saw it?) Each of those will bring at least 10 others to the movie by word of mouth in weeks to come. Mike Moore, I love you. :loveya:
People who wouldn't read the books by Dean, Clarke, and others will see this movie. The koolaid drinkers who get all their news from FOX will see this movie. The brilliance of Moore is that he will reach the duct-tape crowd who bought Bush's "vote for me or die" war on terra. They will be outraged at the Saudi ties.

5. What about Uncovered: The Whole Truth About The Iraq War ?
I saw F9/11 on Friday and liked it A LOT, but today I saw Uncovered: The Whole Truth About The Iraq War (http://www.truthuncovered.com/) and I think it is in some ways even better than F9/11. It is not as funny as F9/11. (Actually, that's a gross understatement. Uncovered is about as funny as a heart attack.) But it is far more convincing. Uncovered is the movie that I'd recommend to a Republican (or, rather, to anyone that still supports Bush and/or his war).

Uncovered is precisely the kind of documentary that Michael Moore would have to make if he didn't want to be accused of "preaching to the choir". You can see why he doesn't do it. No one can accuse the director of Uncovered of "preaching to the choir", since he makes his case flawlessly, backed by 20-25 former CIA, State Department, and Pentagon specialists, but Uncovered would never attract 2-3 million paying viewers on its opening weekend.

7. Hey, thanks for the welcome!
... and you'll just love the DVD, guaranteed. The copy I saw I got from the local public library, but I liked it so much that I went ahead I ordered two copies, one for me and one for my father-in-law (a Republican who doesn't think very of Dubya). Also, for all of you who are Netflix subscribers, they have it too.

And, it's ALREADY the most successful documentary of all time.
That is fuckin' mindblowing!! The old record was also held by Michael Moore with "Bowling for Columbine." F911 blew away that movie's $21.6 million lifetime gross in THREE DAYS.

9. I have to eat my words!!
I told a DUer who predicted that F911 would be #1 opening weekend that there was no way it could be because it was opening in so few theaters. Turns out that he/she was right!! I'm sorry whoever it was!
