A question about F9/11

In the movie Moore interviews Lila Libscomb. When he first shows her is her son alive and then dies? Or has her son already died when Moore first interviews her?

she was gung-ho for the military then... complete 360 when the reality of *'s 'war' struck.... HOME.

I'm pretty sure that the whole thing was after her son had died. Whenever she talked about the military, you could hear the irony in her voice. I don't think Moore picked some random woman and her son just happened to die.
