Fahrenheit 9/11' Sets Documentary Record
(AP) - Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" took in a whopping $21.8 million in its first three days, becoming the first documentary ever to debut as Hollywood's top weekend film. If Sunday's estimates hold when final numbers are released Monday, "Fahrenheit 9/11" would set a record in a single weekend as the top-grossing documentary ever outside of concert films and movies made for huge-screen IMAX theaters

Permit me to laugh again? I look forward to the spin that will most assuredly follow. I hope to contribute my $9 next week, time permitting. I say, score one for the soldiers and the good old USA!

1. Moore broke his own record. In THREE DAYS.
Edited on Sun Jun-27-04 07:03 PM by VolcanoJen
The previous highest-grossing documentary was Moore's own "Bowling for Columbine," with a lifetime gross of $21.6 million.

"Fahrenheit 9/11" demolished that gross in THREE DAYS.

It's not a movie anymore... it's a movement.

2. Even if the movie doesn't affect the election
I have to say how great it made me feel to be in a room with that many people who feel the same way as me. It's just like coming to this site, but you can actually see everyone else.

Moments like last night (when I saw the film) really come in handy during those times when you start to worry that the whole country is asleep at the wheel.

3. Yeah, that feeling of being surrounded by others like you.... it was
just like how I'd felt at the recent Texas Democratic Convention. I'd never been to a state convention before, and the energy was wonderful!

5. We're going to see it again
